More like most of these people discovered 4chan long after it became mainstream and come from a culture of idol worship retardation and will defend their precious m00t as much as they can. It was clear how fucked up the userbase is when there was an actual out pour of support when gamergate was censored.
I think the main conflict between the "old fags", or anons who used 4chan when it was an anonymous image board and not a mainstream chat portal for barely functional snowflake spergs, is that we used the Internet in the early social media period and mostly didn't care about sucking up to people and worshipping figureheads like the lowest common denominator who didn't really get online did at that time. Now this lowest common denominator who is extremely politically opinionated- not educated- and doesn't have a respect to take their shoes off before dragging mud into the house they showed up to, uninvited, now makes up the vast majority of posters on 4chan.
