This place has a sort of magic to it which other chans don't. Nothing will be able to replace 4chan because the time this site dies, the internet itself will be absolutely different.

I've been learning Japanese because ever since all the active English textboards died (RIP world2ch 2003-2003) I've been wanting to move to 2channel. My Japanese teacher facepalmed when I told him why I'm learning.
I wouldnt really care tbqh, I only use 4chan to shitpost while I'm out and bored on my phone or when I'm taking a shit, again while I'm using my phone
4chan never really was the sort of site for intelligent conversation anyway so I'm not sure why anyone would be saddened by the site dying

When that happens, I am sure that the source code will be released. When the source code is released, I/other people will get a whole bunch of /g/entoomen from IRC to inspect the code for bugs, exploits and patch them up.
Taking this, we will eventually buy back 4chan.net/4chan.org domain and start hosting the site as if it were a new beginning.

Today? I'd probably just be glad I didn't have to keep up with this place anymore.
A few years ago I would have been sad, and even a year ago I would have been upset. But now? I would miss a few people, but I would almost be happy that 4chan was gone. This place became too stupid for its own good. And slowly but surely it's only getting dumber.
