I am glad this happened.
A few tweaks here and there could make these new "text" boards more useful.
Specifically bring back the colors for replies. It looks weird.
In fact, even add it to OP. (this should have been default across the site to be honest, the original style was a flaw that never got fixed)
I hope for more text-boards in the future regardless.
/news/ makes a good and logical start to test out ideas after /pol/ fuck off from it.

The news boards were racially charged before /pol/ (so were other boards but for some reason moot was more butthurt with the news anons).
Hell, the news anons gave /pol/ Ron Paul memes, happenings, and happy merchant. Ben Garrison started on /new/. I'm guessing it's strategic to push meme fags to /pol/ since the board had previous issues with /b/tards trolling the residential conservatives.
