When's the last time a merge helped anything? Splits tend to be permanent and for good reason. Putting /v/ and /vg/ back together would be a fucking disaster.
Same with merging /sp/, /mu/ and /k/.. very very different crowds use those places.
Maybe the only one I can see would be /mlp/ back into /co/ in a few years if that fandom just totally dies down, although even then I would think mods might leave it around as kind of a crypt holding the corpse of that fandom.

First things first sound webms should be allowed site wide, it is inexcusable that it hasn't been done already. After that delete /gif/ and /wsg/, they serve no purpose if sitewide has sound webms. Delete /3/ since it is literally dead and move topics to /g/. Then take /p/, /po/, /gd/ and the oekaki boards and mix them into 1 board called /art/. Merge /hm/ and /cm/ into /men/. Merge /wg/ into /w/ (we don't need two fucking wallpaper boards). Merge /s/ and /hr/ into /hc/ as well as /gif/ topics and re-name to /adult/ or some shit for sexy girl pics and 3D porn.
Next merge /c/, /u/, /e/ and /d/ into /h/ and just have Anime+Hentai/Media.
Other then that I think that should be good. I'd say to delete /aco/ but then that either shits up /co/ or /b/ depending on who gets hit, so it's better that one stays up. Also if /mlp/ stays blue then horsepussy should be allowed on /aco/ if it isn't already. Only new board that needs to be killed is /trash/. I'd say to merge /asp/ and /sp/ back together but /asp/ is autistic as fuck so hell no to that.
So tl;dr /trash/, /gif/, /wsg/, /3/, /p/, /po/. /gd/, /i/, /ic/, /hm/, /cm/, /wg/, /s/, /hr/, /hc/, /c/, /u/, /e/, and /d/ should be deleted while /art/, /men/ and /adult/ are created.
So after net calculations, 4chan should delete 16 boards while combining topics into new and current boards to increase traffic and interest for those topics' discussion.
