So i turned on my computer minutes ago and i entered in my browser bar what i thought was 4chan and pic related appeared (I'm using chrome not ie). I can tell its maware so i clicked out of it and looked online to see if there was something wrong with 4chan. I didn't find anything about a virus on 4chan so i went back on and now its fine.
Could it be that i didnt have 4chan in the address bar? All i do is type "4" and then it shows up and i click on it. I do it so fast so maybe something else got in address bar?
It's 4chan.ORG not .net or .com.

the thing is, when i type the 4 in the bar the site immediately appears as the first result because i've been here many times In order for a .net or .com to appear, i would of have to enter them in at least once before, but i didn't since they never appear while i'm typing.
>I'm using chrome not ie
were you using ie when this happened and then you switched to chrome?
there is malware that redirects any url to a scamsite. it probably has nothing to do with 4chan. it could have just affected ie. run a virus/malware scan.
>>359802
you have a virus
congratulations, dumbass
>>359802
install firefox
>>359906
then why did you say pic related? post a screenshot of what you actually got.
>>359919
Because it looked exactly the same as the one i got, other than it was on chrome. I probably still should of screenshot it huh? I didn't think of it.

Uh, you do realize that is a legit update, right? Please tell me you are not this bad at computer. I recommend installing it and then taking a computer 101 course + meds for your overblown paranoia.
BleepingComputer.com, download rkill.
Scan with Windows Defender or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Also, install Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.

Uhh, the same thing just happened to me
It seems like maybe someone hacked the frontpage and nowhere else?
>>360042
It seems like it's not happening a second time
That means the most likely culprit is a malicious ad banner in the rotation somehow

Adobe Flash player is the program most commonly targeted for fake updates. The alert looks slightly wrong to me and it's being forced by a very suspicious website
Just happened to me OP, thought I may have entered the url wrong. Guess not
also this

I think 4chan has been haxxed, because I too just encountered a similar scam.
>Open new private browsing window
>Type "4chan" in address bar
>Get Google search results for 4chan
>Click on 4chan
>Get pic related
>Take pic related
>Close window, reopen private browsing window, click a random board, go to 4chan as normal, come to /qa/
>Post pic related in this thread
>Probably be called cancer for admitting to using private browsing for 4chan
I use AdBlock normally, although private browsing stops that, so maybe it would have happened for any site.
Yeah, there's a bad ad on the front page. HIRO!

Not even kidding you there. Describe your problems.
Same here I get redirected to some weird website whenever I access the main page.

Please go to https://www.4chan.org/feedback and submit your issue.
Additionally, scan your PC with MBAM >>360006 etc.
If you use a browser that supports extensions, get NoScript/Scriptsafe and an ad-blocker (you can still whitelist on boards.4chan, if you want, it seems clean for now)
im getting this too

>internet explorer
You deserve this.
>>362229
>bad reading comprehension
you deserve that
>>360838
This. The front page ads are associated with malware since they don't use engine-4chan ads or whatever it is.
good thread guys

whoops wrong thread.
>browsing 4chan with ad-block disabled
You deserve what you get
