It uh, actually is pretty new. It's from this season. Well, the original Osomatsu is very old, but it's one of those things that's practically unknown outside of Japan despite being a very big deal in Japan.
The new Osomatsu is probably catching on because it's pretty different from the perceived anime "norms" and even makes fun of them to some degree. That's what a lot of people are looking for these days.
