>this board has the most active and competent team of janitors

Which board is it?
>>
>>352097
Just because the mods are global doesn't mean every mod moderates every board. You'd know that if you were paying attention to the leaks.

where did you get this from?
>>
The board I use the most.
Conversely, the boards I dislike the most have the worst janitors.
>>
>>352110
Counterargument:

You have shit taste and your board has the worst janitors.
>>
>>352097
Do you think if you haven't received a janitor acceptance email by now you won't get one?
>>
>>352139
Probably, yes.

At this point, after the fourth or third time applying, I assume I am simply not janitor material. I mean, I took a few hours to write out a few concise paragraphs, so either my application was never read or I am just not what they are looking for.
>>
>>352097
None of them. Fire them all.
>>
>>352147
This is my 2nd time applying I'd really like to be a janitor on /tv/ but if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be I guess best of luck to you my friend.

Honestly, /diy/'s jannies do a pretty solid job. Banhammer only drops on shit that is clearly in violation, and considering how often our content borders on a global rule one breach, if someone is smart enough to ask the question without "asking the question" they will usually let it fly. They are quick to jump on shitposts and doesn't afraid of any meme.

What kind of faggot does this, how are you meant to get the faggot in trouble then?

No. You'd think they'd get the message after babysitting RWBY for 6 hours

I have always wondered this myself. If someone is willing to commit a comment to the internet, why the fuck would people redact names to protect the retarded?

"only thing i understood was 9gag :D"

Man, don't we all know that feeling.
>>
>>352426

You clearly weren't here during the great mod crackdown. That was unbearable. Threads that were staples on /v/ here deleted left and right. God have mercy on your soul if your post was slightly off topic.
>>
>>352436
Of course I wouldn't know about a mod crackdown, I don't use the shithole. But what you said clearly needs to happen again, because its obvious /v/ has serious problems, even from an outsiders perceptive
>>
>>352440

/v/ is fine other than blatant shitposting threads and people trying to turn each new game into TORtanic. The mods delete the former but I don't know if you could or even should force people to be positive all the time.
>>
>>352446

While you're looking things up, can you find out the benefits of clap pushups?
>>

EA made an MMORPG called Star Wars: The Old Republic. At the time it was the most expensive game of all time costing between $300-$500 million. It looked crappy before launch but /v/ didn't talk much about it. Then EA did a beta and an anon streamed himself playing and the game was confirmed shit. Add in EA possibly buying awards by winning game of the year from a few publications before the game was even released and /v/ was pissed.

What followed was around 12-18 months of nonstop shitposting. There was always at least 1 thread up at any moment and often more and most threads easily hit the bump limit in a few hours. People were going to the Bio ware forums and screencapping players' desperate attempts of post-purchase rationalization. Then a troll called Andromeda dropped in always defending TORtanic. People got paranoid and thought she was a shill also sparking a big shill panic on /v/.

ME3 then came out and people were pissed at the ending. TORtanic's subscribers fell below 1 million (EA originally thought they would have 10 million subs) and they cut over half the servers. Then they announced the game would go free to play. EA's stock fell over 50% and they were getting hit and losing lawsuits left and right for various games thus the shitposting intensified. Then Andromeda "confessed" to being a paid shill. After a while things died down.

EA and TORtanic deserved all the shit it got. But the problem is that too many people came in and saw TORtanic and try to replicate it with every fucking game now to ludicrous levels. Some small section of a level you can't even see most of the time has crappy textures? Time to screencap it and post 50 threads that the graphics suck and the game is blunder is a century. Also call anyone you says you're exaggerating a shill.
>>
>>352460
Well, shitting on games for trivial things just sounds to me like how /v/'s always been, but that definitely does seem like it must have hurt.

What I wonder now is, was there a big freakout when the title of the new Mass Effect game was announced.
>>
>>352460
Didn't that paid shill come out a few years later and admit he was actually just a troll

Yes.

Never underestimate the stupidity of /v/ or 4chan in general.
>>
>>352466

/v/ doesn't really talk much about the new ME game. There's rarely a thread and when there is it'll get a few dozen posts at best sometimes ~200 on a good day. I think it's too far away from release at the moment.

>>
>>352473
That's unsurprising for various reasons, but I was referring more to how it's called Mass Effect Andromeda. I could imagine /v/ going insane about the shill thing.
