Why do /a/ mods like to do these clowny things? Does this happens on any other boards?
>>
/a/ does it much more than any other board but it occasionally happens elsewhere

Red text can be hilarious if timed/used right, like it is there.

Dunno why other boards don't do it more often. Maybe because some boards would freak the fuck out at even a hint of a mod present, I mean what would happen if someone got a public ban on /pol/? Probably like three hundred posts yelling that the sky is falling and mods are tyrants or something. I dunno.

I knew this cap would be of some use eventually.

Burichan will always be the best theme

It's just Yotsuba B with a font that looks bad on screens but good on printed paper. Best, it is not.
>>
Mods only do public stuff on /a/ and once in a while on /v/
The other boards don't really exist to them in this way. It's just janitors calling mods to delete posts.
/a/ is the favored board, and that hasn't really changed and probably never will- not that there's anything wrong with that
>>
>>352014
It really shows just how bad /a/ really is. "We moderate ourselves" is objectively untrue, since they need to be constantly babysat by multiple mods. It's really quite funny.
>>
>>352034
Second-class users mad brcause mods and admins don't give a shit about their shitholes and leave them to rot
>>
>>352043
Why would I be mad about not going on a board that's so bad that it needs 24/7 help? I'm fine with my board being ignored. It means that we don't have so many problems.
>>
>>352051
Keep telling yourself that /v/-kun, why don't you make another thread about it?

jesus
>>
>>352055
/v/ is another one of those boards that needs constant moderation.
Try again.
>>
>>352058
But /a/ has good moderation, the fact that shitposters actually get banned within minutes instead is proof of that
>>
>>352063
0/10
>>
>>351903
The first one seems like a dumb ban since he was just making an "anime ja nai" joke. The others are good punishment since they were actually dumb enough to post non-anime things. It's smart because it lets other people know that this is not okay.
>>
>>352063
Wasn't the original argument that /a/ is self-moderating?

Which, by your own admission, is false.
>>
>>352065
Nice argument
>>
>>352067
Being self-moderating is not nthe same as being shitposter-free
>>
>>351903
>justice
>>
>>352083
You can't be self-moderating and also need constant presence from official mods to not be full of shit. They're opposite states.
>>
>>352090
You don't seem to understand what "self-moderating" means
>>
>>352095
"Can use the report button" is not self-moderating. "Hovered over by mods at all times" is also not self-moderating. Combining the two is not self-moderation. At best, it's efficient moderation from staff members.

I'd love to see more public bans, but it just doesn't seem to happen on other boards. It's likely because action isn't taken in any sort of reasonable time frame for boards other than /a/ or /v/, obviously excluding cp
>>
>>352098
Shitposters and bait are told to fuck off and rarely replied seriously to and newfriends are told to fuck off and lurk more, there is only so much community moderation can acomplish and judging from the amount of butthurt that /a/ has always caused on /q/ and /qa/ it seems to be working rather well.

But of course you are either just shitposting or one of those hivemind retards who thinks that boards are homogeneous collectives and that there is no way that shitposter individuals can exist and that their mere existence denies the concept of self-moderation.
>>
>>352155
Replying to shitposts means that they win. They want you to reply. They want to see your reaction. You responding to them is not driving them away or in any way improving the board.
Again, what you describe is exactly the opposite of self-moderation, and might even be the justification for the constant overwatch from mods. They can't leave you to your own devices because you'll fall for shitty bait every time.

>>

If shitposts get called out on being shitposts and never actually replied to how can the have "won"

Don't tell me you are one of those retards who thinks that anyone who calls you out your shitposting is secretly super mad.
>>
>>352167
Replying to the thread keeps it active. Even with a sage, all it takes is the shitposter to keep shitposting one bump at a time to continue to take up space. Reporting and then completely ignoring them is the way to go.

I vaguely remember the 123 millionth post on /a/ was in a Kancolle thread, and a mod put USER WAS SUNK FOR THIS POST. Was glorious.

It's not in the desustorage archive, so it might be lost forever.
