Hasn't /pol/ suffered enough? Why can't IDs and flags be removed? We're sorry for our past transgressions, and truly see how wrong we were, please let us have our board back.

Every day I wake up hoping to find /pol/ has been forgiven and IDs and flags have been removed. Every day I am saddened and brokenn. It has gone beyond a punishment and is simply cruel at this point.

Take those silly slogans to reddit, please. You weren't here when moot removed CAPTCHA, put up a sitewide bulletin telling people to spam /pol/, and added IDs and flags. All at the same time. It was horrifying and it never ends.

This is a bad post and you need to use more discourse as requested by the /pol/ sticky.

Ohhhh wait, you can't use that because you dismissed it. Nope. Sorry. Not allowed. No permission. Bad luck. Game over.

/pol/acks are treated about as badly on 4chan as the Jews were in Germany during WW2. The IDs that are forced upon us are liteally the same as the stars the Jews had to wear back then. Yet people call US Nazis. It would be mind-boggling if it wasn't so sad.

When /pol/ harbour happened everyone on /pol/ was ASKING for temp id's and flags, you idiots. Theyre not any form of punishment. Theyre a necessity because otherwise everyone on /pol/ would be calling each other JIDF constantly. Also flags are just fun to have.

The people itt saying its a punishment are severely out of touch. The majority of the people on /qa/ in general seem to be lebbit brigaders who have no understanding of this site going back less than a fucking year.

I was THERE in those threads when it was happening. /pol/ absolutely wanted temp id's, and honestly most of them still do.

/pol/ has improved tremendously over the past year since the purge. The biggest problem that board had was false flag posters, moot even brought it up in his goodbye stream. Hr said that he would frequently see people make a thread, then reply disagreeing with themselves, just to stir up an argument.

Who cares? They were probably just trying to keep their thread alive. If their topic wasn't worth arguing, people would just ignore it and they would be the only one in the thread.

Why not just admit it? You are pathetically reliant on what others think to form your own opinions, therefore samefagging scares you.
>>
>>348822
Its an objective fact. They've stopped making garrison edits, they now support israel and the insult "jidf" is used only as a mockery, and a lot of the stormfaggotry has left and gone to crippled Chan. Oh also they despise GG

The best /pol/ can manage is never ending trump threads and threads lamenting the refugee crisis. That's fine by me, ill take that over the stormweenie bullshit at any time.
>>
>>348825
What cured the "red pilled" reddit shit from /pol/ was the banning of gaymergate and kek porn which sent them all running to 8gag. However, the stupid flagposting bullshit (inb4 u r le indian baka desu senpai) is also terrible and has chased off a lot of the interesting posters.

You don't Space Elevator threads or other interesting, well-thought-out topics very often anymore, and 99% of threads outside of Trump and immigration are just shitposting that may as well be on /int/. Flags and IDs bring a horrible kind of poster, one who literally believes /pol/ is there for shitposting instead of discussion.
>>
>>348825
>They've stopped making garrison edits
That was never a /pol/ thing. See pic.
>>
>>348830
Oh stop with your bullshit. The only people who complain about flags is whoever is getting memed at the moment. Also, i think the board can survive all the indian posters being scared off lol.

Also, you're not even addressing the benefits of flags. Do you not see how it would be a good thing for a Finnish poster to assist in threads about finnish politics, when everyone knows he's from finland?

Flags are objectively a good thing for that board, and if your only argument against them is "poo in loo memes" then you only succeeded in making yourself look retarded.
>>
>>348835
You don't even post on /pol/. That's why you think they are responsible for ben garrison edits and that's why you said:
>The best /pol/ can manage is never ending trump threads and threads lamenting the refugee crisis
If you don't take those topics seriously, you don't post on /pol/. Stop being so slimy. There's no need to advocate for the destruction of a board just because you don't like it.
>>
>>348835
>if you defend x, you must be x
Anyway, maybe those Finns should be judged upon their posts, and not their flag.
>>
>>348835
>if your only argument against them is "poo in loo memes"
What it boils down to is that posts on 4chan should be judged on their content, not on their flag. But you know that.
>>
>>348689
why, you want to samefag your unpopular bait threads?
>>
>>348837
I post autistically on /pol/, probably much more than you. I know all about the Goldberg edits but its still a fact that /pol/ jumped on board with spreading the image of zyklon Ben with a fever. Also, Goldberg simply cannot be responsible for every single Garrison edit that was ever made, considering the popularity of the meme.

I know more about /pol/ than you ever will, and know what's best for that board. And the best thing is to leave temp ids and flags alone.

>How exactly do IDs and flags hurt /pol/?
Posts should be judged on their content alone, not on the flag or the poster's history.

>flags and IDs STILL on /pol/. This brings a tear to my eye. I, like most /pol/acks, love 4chan and would do anything to help the community. Yet we are pariahs, hated by even the mods, forced to endure malicious cruelty beyond anything experienced by even /soc/ or /mlp/. How can anybody turn a blind eye to this? Do you have no love in your hearts whatsoever?
>>
Flags leaving would be for the best, but IDs should stay. /pol/ had a huge problem with samefags and shills samefagging threads continuously, and IDs all but eliminated that issue. The samefag spam we have now is a pittance compared to what it was before.
>>
flags add to the discussions. it's always interesting to see what countries people with different points of view are from. ID's prevent samefagging and thus make the board better.
>>
>>349474
>poster's history
You realize the IDs are not board-wide right? You get a new ID every time you post in a new thread. The board-wide IDs were a mistake and created that issue you were talking about, so they got reverted to thread-IDs, which still prevent samefagging while still keeping users anonymous.

The only people who hate thread-IDs are people guilty of samefagging.
>>
>>349305
IDs are fine and actually assist in keeping shitposting down. It is flags that hurt the most because you get ebin memes like when someone from Greece posts anything everyone responds "Pay Debts". It turns even the slightest discussion into "Everyone repeat the country-related thing the first guy said XD".
>>
>>349576
Remember when we had global IDs? That shit was hilarious. A couple really nasty samefaggers got found out real quick, but it eventually devolved into stalking and other such bullshit. One ID per thread is great though.
>>
>>349586
Yeah I liked the global IDs until people started using the archives to track people. It was great to expose all the long-time shills that had inhabited the board, but overstayed its welcome. The thread-IDs are a blessing though and I hope they never leave. Makes it very easy to find those determined shitposters. I wish /qa/ had IDs.

>I HATE MEMES

>>349576
>and IDs all but eliminated that issue
Wow. So you have never heard of cellphones, proxies, etc.? If anything, thread IDs increase samfagging because it makes it more effective due to morons thinking their precious reddIDs protect them from it.

>>349582
>You realize the IDs are not board-wide right
You realize you can return to reddit at any time, right? And you also realize that one can make more than one post in a thread thus creating a post history, right?
>>
>>348689
Flags are OK, it's just Americans making it shit. Their idea of """"banter"""" is completely humorless and autistic. They take an event that is happening/has happened in your country that they heard on /pol/ and blame you for it in a totally serious tone. If it were possible to wipe all newfags from existence, I would be down with flags, but of course that's not possible.
>>
They also think that, if you're in any moderately 'exotic' country, you're the go-to guy for any questions about your internal politics and for all stereotypical behavior about your country. It's like they think they're in a zoo, when we're all NEETs posting in an anime imageboard.
Case in point, >>348835 >>349581
>>
>>349631
Banter is a stupid normalfag term, originating in Australia. The same people who use the term banter are responsible for cancerous shit like the nigger-twitter memes that were spammed all over. In real life, bantering is just passive aggressive insults that ultra-insecure normalfags throw at each other to deflect from their own pathetic inadequacies. I really hate seeing the NEETs and weebs on 4chan play-act at being the type of people who would "banter" or use nigger-speak in real life. It is beyond pathetic.

Now that's just unfair. I promise you, the frogposter spamming this thread does not represent /pol/. All we are asking for is the same treatment other boards get, to deny us that is to sink to a level of foul cruelty never witnessed on 4chan before.
>>
>>350288
Try reading the thread. The frogposter is typical of the sort of morons who have invaded /pol/ since the introduction of flags and ids. It is impossible to have real discussion on /pol/ anymore, because everybody is judged by their flag. As for IDs, it is simply against the spirit of 4chan to have any kind of identity attached to your posts and it attracts redditors (I would bet anything the frogposting spammer is originally from reddit and thinks 4chan is just a place to shitpost).
>>
>>350299
What kind of identity do IDs give you?

>What kind of identity do IDs give you?
You need to think hard about the connection between "identity" and "ID". After a few days of reflection, I hope you realize just how stupid you are and issue an apology to all of /pol/.
>>
>>350299
This is completely stupid. Tripcodes do more to attract redditors than temp IDs that only ID you in a thread. All a temp ID does is prevent you from samefagging. The only reason you wouldn't like this is if you were a samefag troll, of which /pol/ had many.
>>
