I've used 4chan since 2005 and I've always wanted this. I emailed moot when /new/ was deleted in 2011 and begged for it to come back and he replied and told me he didn't watch the news himself and wasn't political and didn't want to bring that to 4chan. Then /pol/ got created a year and half later.
This is like a dream come true. I only hope it doesn't turn into click bait outrage: the board.

You're not getting my meaning at all, friend. It's not about being a circlejerk or not (which, by the way, is a meaningless word that you just parrot because of memes) or even about political orientation, it's about /pol/ having been left to the fucking wolves since moot decided to "troll" the board out of butthurt. The place has been complete cancer since the /pol/ocaust, and all that board ever needed was a little bit of common-sense moderation, not fucking flags and other nonsense.
What I've been reading about /news/ so far isn't all great, I'll give you that, but at least for me it's a step in the right direction.
I think /pol/ and /news/ are different enough that it warrants two different boards. I REALLY hopes /news/ doesnt become another pol though. And this is coming from someone who reads pol daily.
I wonder if Hiroyuki just doesn't understand why /pol/ is currently a non-worksafe board.
