Anybody else noticed this? It seems to only happen on /v/ as well. Does this board just hates talking about videogames or what?
Depends on the picture, desu senpai. You should be aware that there are particular pictures that will draw more attention than the content of your OP. Example would be cropped-porn or Katya or Rose or others.

I see that happen on lots of boards. It's just how people on this site behave, the picture stands out more than the text so people talk about the shiny thing that grabs their attention. I'm sure it's especially bad on /v/ since they're a bunch of 16 year old kids with the attention span of a parrot.

/v/ is a prime example what hapens when you let culture run wild without any restrictions. You get a board more random than /b/ that also talks way worse about videogames than /b/.
Your example in particular was once not that hard set in stone. People would post "never post a picture more interesting than your post" for really extreme examples. /v/, the little contrarian kids that they are, had of course use this as basis to ONLY use offtopic images and ALWAYS give the offtopic the preferation of the reply.
Would be semi easy fixable but of course we need more shitholes for /pol/acks instead.
