Okay, this is a thread for serious discussion about the new /trash/ board.
I want one fucking person to tell me, what's the point of it?
If a thread violates the rules, delete it and give the person a warning/ban depending on the severity of it.
We have /b/, we have /r9k/, we have /s4s/, we don't need another board completely dedicated to shiposting.

Maybe for you newfags it might be irrelevant, but flooding the site with useless boards doesn't help anything, especially when the board itself is already overlapped with several other boards.
Further, a person can go to /bans/ to see recent bans and warnings, so moving the thread to another board to severe as an example to pointless.
A question should never be in the negative, you should ask for a reason for it rather than start with asking for a reason against it.

Mods wanted a place to move good but off topic threads. Before it's something they had to begrudgingly delete. Where they went wrong is allowing pony porn, or really just thread creation.

Why not just move them to the relevant board then? There was a thread on /tg/ about Japanese history, and it got moved to /his/. Assumedly threads about comics or movies would be moved to /co/ or /tv/, or if they're shitty threads they'll be deleted outright.

I don't understand it either. There was never any problem with deleting and banning threads. If the point is truly to just allow a place for mods to move off topic threads to, then they should remove the ability to post threads there - because right now furfags and clopfags are just settling in and treating it like it's "their" board because they can post there and not get deleted. If the point is actually to allow that in spite of the boards "official" purpose then that makes even less sense because furry and clop was never a big enough problem to warrant its own containment board and now that they have one there's just going to be more of it and make people think that kind of shit is "welcome" on 4chan.
