Hiro, you should go back to /a/ and help us with the general

Hiro, you should go back to /a/ and help us with the general problem we are having.

The daily 24/7 generals for shows and things like "post your x" shit doesn't help discussion at all and only serves to decrease it. You can only talk about something so much because there is nothing to discuss, after that it becomes just something people use as a chatroom. A good example of those are Madoka and JoJo threads. In addition to that, too many threads are just about specific shows, rather than having a loose topic, which is a result of most threads being generals

Generals used to be discouraged, but over time the mods have gotten lazy, mainly due to the site becoming too big for its own good

dumb /q/poster

/v/ got /vg/
would /a/ getting /ag/ help out the board in any way?
i can't see this backfiring, and i only see good things happening if hiro were to do this.
but then again, i don't really browse /a/ so what do i know?
>>
Mods still trash some generals on occasion but they just get remade 20 minutes later. It's at an unmanageable level unless you make no generals a legitimate rule.
>>
>>335010
>/vg/
Have you ever looked at /vg/ anon? Its closer to a chatroom if anything
>>
>>335005
/a/ needs to shut their trap and help the actual big problems to be heard right now.
Fucking little snowflake bitches go choke on your blueray collection of horrible fanservice shows.
>>
>>335010
>would /a/ getting /ag/ help out the board in any way?
That is a horrible idea. A lot of the generals as are are already circlejerks with no real discussion of the topic until something new comes out. So you would be creating a board of just that.
What /a/ needs is to actually learn that it doesn't have to have a 24/7 thread up for everything, as taking breaks helps reinvigorate discussion. And if it can't do that then it needs mods to do what it did in 2011 and 2012 and start actively deleting the generals that are either image dumps or just talking about nothing (like the Madoka general at the time).

>What /a/ needs is to actually learn that it doesn't have to have a 24/7 thread up for everything
It's a slippery slope, as boards fill up with generals, those get forced on /a/ too.
/vg/ being one of the fastest boards doesn't help, slower boards closer to /a/ like /m/ or /jp/ alredy have plenty of generals due to more openness or changes in the userbase.

Only Hiro/mods can do something about it.

Nah, we get first dibs on the moderation's time, it's always been this way.
>>

>and help the actual big problems to be heard right now
What's more important than trying to fix one of the biggest problems 4chan in general is having?
>>
>>336148
>thinking only /d/ hates /a/
>>
>>337516
What other relevant issues are there then? It's quite clear that he's from /d/.
>>
>>337519
/his/ is still a clusterfuck. /trash/ is a joke. The filter drama is still ongoing. Fuck, even the endless bitching from /d/eviants on their split board is of more consequence than /a/ navel gazing over generals.
>>
>>337544
The filters aren't an issue.
/his/ is like a week old and as long as it has posters there's no real issue, Hiro even said he doesn't care if it becomes /pol/.
/trash/ is trash, seems all set to me.
>>
>>337544
>/his/ is still a clusterfuck. /trash/ is a joke.
Both of these are fucking new boards. It normally takes months before order is actually set

>The filter drama is still ongoing
You mean the wordfilters? There isn't any drama here, if anything, people want more

>even the endless bitching from /d/eviants on their split board is of more consequence
A board made for image dumping of porn doesn't really have much value anon in comparison to a main board
>>
>>335010
/vg/ and /vp/ where stupid ideas that encouraged people to keep up their shitty posts as long as they're in containment, instead of properly moderating. /vr/ wasn't bad, but I've heard its been getting worse lately.
>>
>>337554
Do you go to /d/?
>>
>>337574
No, I don't. But the few times I've gone to it, its been pretty mostly just a few dozen futa threads, a few fart and fat threads, a few different vore threads. Its a board not made for discussion, but for image dumping. Not being able to post western shit isn't that big of a deal and last I recall, it was already against the rules
>>
>>337601
So you don't know anything about the board or its history but feel you're in a position to dictate what it should be for and what's OK to post there.

Good job twisting what I said faggot. My original statement was that the problem /d/ and /aco/ is having is hardly important nor is it exactly dire. All it is, is a bout with the mods, something that will also naturally be resolved in time, because /aco/ is still fresh as fuck.

I am also not dictating what shouldn't be posted, all I did was state the truth. Boards like /e/ /c/ /h/ /d/, for all intents and purposes, are containment board for the sake of image dumps, discussion is secondary. The rules, as I know them has always been NO WESTERN. If this is the case, you guys are getting upset that the rules are suddenly being enforced.

The original anon statement was also
> help the actual big problems to be heard right now.
Which is wrong as I've said. It isn't that big of a problem and its solution is nothing more then Bunny telling the mods to stop that

Get fucked
>>
>>337565
/vp/ was necessary as Pokemon flooded /v/, but I think it needs to be change to /mon/ to include other similar franchises.
During downtimes it becomes a wasteland of generals and frogposters
>>
>>337652
I didn't mean to seem short with you, but you'd probably be a little miffed if a rule that hasn't been enforced for many years suddenly started getting enforced on /a/ to the detriment of the board and its community wouldn't you?

It might have started as an image dump board, but it's faraway beyond that and has been for a very long time and nobody cares about the no western rule there.
