Hey /qa/, what's the best 100% free anti-virus software out there?
common sense xD
Whatever is included with Windows + common sense.

Malwarebytes + Avast
Pretty much what the other guys said. If you only visit trusted sites and be careful
with your downloads, you should be fine.

>let's overkill the system with placebo, that'll do it!
>there are people who need anything other than Defender/Security Essentials, which is only used as a harmless safeguard that's enabled by default anyway
>there are people who need antimalware

>facts are bait!
>AV ratings are not fabricated and paid for, I swear!
It's OK, Anon. You don't need to feel so triggered.
>loli butt

100% free as in 'muh freedoms'
Jesus, Hachikuji is perfect.
>>333267
>avast
Kill yourself.

>I use ClamAV

avira (has ads) or bitdefender free (reduced functionality compared to paid version)
+ common sense

I use Avast, but it's got some big-ass issues (also, you still need common sense when browsing, like to have an adblocker and to not run random fucking executables).
namely, its heuristics are fucking awful, on rare occasions (has happened twice to me in the last 4-5 years), Avast will decide compilers are evil and go batshit over gcc
supposedly, Windows Defender is actually pretty damn good these days, but I dunno
>>333267
>avast trial runs out
>download latest trial
>run setup
>BSOD
Up until that point I was happy using Avast but they can get fucked now.
i get by with only malwarebytes
i haven't gotten a virus in god know how long and it deletes all spyware and adware for me
>>333236
Common sense. Or using Linux.
Microsoft Security Essentials
