This discussion began last week at >>316518 and I feel there was a lot of good input, but nothing ever actually came of it as far as some general consensus. Since tonight is when it airs, I figured it was best to wait until now to revive the discussion so the thread's usual posters would have an adequate opportunity to respond. When the thread goes up tonight on >>>/co/ , I will be sure to make a reply there linking to this.

We really need definite resolution of this issue. /co/-based posters nearly had a riot in the last thread, and the /a/-based posters acted little better. The thread at >>329996 suggests this isn't the only issue going on with /a/ at the moment, combined with the lingering effects of what I have personally dubbed "Nipplemodgate".

I will try to be on Rizon under the same nick for the night in case anyone has anything they feel best said in a less hostile environment, though I do have work to do and may not respond immediately. Keep in mind also that ad-homenim attacks on me and/or the userbase of a board, while not forbidden under the rules here, are certainly unproductive and only serve to make their user look like an obtuse tool.
>>
Actually pretty much everyone agreed except for you. You're just denying reality at this point and no one should give you responses

Don't change anything and keep it as is.

Why should Hiro punish people just because one dude is super butthurt about a set of general threads that don't fuck up the quality of the board?
>>
>no consensus
Seems like the overwhelming consensus was it belongs in the Trash desu.

With /co/ as the runner up. And I'm willing to bet the only person who voted it to go on /a/ was you.

Tough titties, literally nobody agrees with you. Deal with it senpai.
>>
Fuck off. No one on either side wants to move

The only legal topic which is nevertheless forbidden sitewide appears to be pony porn. Unless you intend to start the ball rolling down the slippery slope, I don't think "trash" is a legitimate option.

Also, again, straw polls are not a substitute for thoughtful, deliberative discussion. They're too easy to game anyway, especially with the technical skill of this site's userbase.

How is this not a consensus? Just because you disagree doesn't mean that matter hasn't been agreed upon by the majority.

Seriously explain yourself.

>Toonami
Isn't that just a programming block? Why would you even need a fucking general for something like that?

Doesn't matter. It's a western block and it probably airs both anime and cartoons, meaning, it doesn't belong on /a/ at all, fuck off. Toonami isn't anime or related to it in anyway, as such it doesn't go there. If you want to discuss a show in that slot, make a thread for the show, not a Toonami thread.
>>
>>331632
It's called toonami general but it's basically a containment livewatch thread on saturday.

Actually, Toonami has been on an all-anime schedule since January. That's part of why I think a reconsideration of its traditional location is warranted.
>>
>>331625
>as I recall
You recall incorrectly. It was one guy raging on the last thread and a number of other /co/ people were standing up for it. So unless you can link me to an actual archive or thread (make it recent) then you're talking out of your ass. Whether you oersonally think it fits in on /co/ is irrelevant.

>inb4 you don't respond to this post because you have no argument
>>331632
It's only anime for the time being but it still doesn't belong on /a/. Only the individual shows. If anything I guess it'd belong on /TV/
>>
>>331641
> It was one guy raging on the last thread
The one guy was him. He remade his own thread.
>>
>>331639
No, that means fuck all

CN airs anime too you know and has periods it airs only anime. Are we going to allow CN generals on /a/ now as well? No, we aren't. Because its a fucking western channel made for a western audience, just like Toonami is a western block to air shows for a western audience. It doesn't belong on /a/, even more so since you can just make threads for the individual things broadcasted. Funi/CR threads aren't even allowed and 404 if the mods aren't being lazy

I wish I could, except for the slight problem that archive.moe outright lost four months of archives, and the remainder are not yet fully online at their new hosts. But I will keep looking, once I get some of my work done.
>>
>>331669
Except, it doesn't fucking matter what anons have discussed and came to a conclusion about. By technicality, it doesn't belong on /a/ AT ALL. It goes either on >>>/tv/ or >>>/co/ and on /a/ you discuss the shows themselves without the disgusting shitty general
>>
>>331677
Anything relevant will be in the archive. It's quite clear the consensus is that it should stay on /co/ though. How can you even deny the FACT that most people are fine with it on /co/? Seems like some sort of cognitive dissonance or willfull density in my opinion.

People kept calling the mod "nipplemod", so I figured a funny name for the incident would be "nipplemodgate". Simple as that.
>>
>>331783
>i should add gate to any form of drama for some stupid reason
Don't be retarded. It was barely anything of actual importance, it was just 1 mod going rouge and trying to change /a/ to how he wants it. He was quickly beaten back into place and the status quo returned
>>
>>331813
I have to give it some kind of name in order to succinctly reference it.
>>
>>331815
Then you just say Nipplemod, there's no need for the gate. It's retarded and you're retarded for feeling the need to add it

I believe Toonami should go on /a/, since it is anime discussion. It goes nowhere else.
>>
>>332075
Toonami isn't made by the Japs, so its not anime and doesn't belong on /a/
>>
>>332080
Toonami is like 5 anime at the same time.

/a/ is not "Japanese anime content," its just "anime." That means it includes Western content that is Anime. And that means Toonami is /a/.
>>
>>332091
>western content
>anime
Pick one
>>
>>332091
>Western content that is Anime
Western content by definition can not be anime. Anime is stuff made by the Japs or atleast they have some big role in it, made with the intention of Japs being the main audience. Cartoons is stuff made by the west, for the west. Simple as that

Toonami is by the west and for the west, as such, its not /a/, its /tv/ and /co/
>>
>>332094
Anime is anime, whether you put two or three together or its just one by itself.

>western content
>anime

That's not what Japan says 2bh
>>
>>332096
You should actually learn something about Japan if you're going to be a weaboo
>>
>>332098
>>332101
The anime is still anime yes, the provider of the anime however is not it's a western cartoon channel
>thinkong anime in English and anime in Japanese are the same thing
Dumbass, anime in the English context is essentially a nickname for Japanese cartoon.
>>
>>332107
So anime stops being anime once it's in the west?

Sounds like you're intentionally trying to keep anything that isn't moeshit out of your hugbox.
>>
>>332119
I think your inferior brain is misunderstanding.
You can discuss the shows being aired on toonami, but not the fact that they are on toonami or the toonami block (and you'll get banned for mentioning toonami for inciting shitposting), that a show is airing in toonami is not to say you can't discuss it, but the block is off-limits, the general is for livewatching purposes, so it's essentialy a western block general, not about the anime.
I agree it shouldn't be on /co/ either, but they have the right to decide if they want it.
>>
>>332119
No you're free to discuss the anime that airs on the western channel/block on /a/ just not the channel/block. No one is barring the shows from our board it's not complicated
>>
>>332128
>"inciting shitposting"

Maybe they should just ban the actual shitposter.

But nah, you Ā¢uckolds just want your mods to tell you what you're allowed to talk about.

Shameful.
>>
>>332137
No one on /a/ wants Toonami on /a/. If we idi it would be there
>>
>>332137
On the contrary, mods follow the will of the board or face backlash, a mod even got doxx'd in 2013 for not doing so.
Fun fact: you lost the word c uck because of /a/, wordfiltering normalfag shitposting like t b h and c uck has been one of the main demands of /a/, how does it feel to be beholden to the whims of weebs?
>>
>>332145
>one of the least important boards with some of the lowest traffic
>rest of the site is beholden to their psychotic shitposters

Why is /a/ just not outright deleted again? There are no common interests between /a/ and the rest of the website.
>>
>>332150
>some of the lowest traffic
[Citation needed]

>>
>>332152

>>
>>332150
Not only is /a/ the first board together with /b/ and the spiritual center of 4chan now that /b/ is lost, Depending on the time of day it's between the fifth and seventh largest board, second class anon.
It's also the only big board not rendered useless by shitposting, that has a somewhat cohesive board culture and opinions, and from which almost all top moderation comes from. Another fun thing: hiro knows jack shit of english as you know, so the mods that know nip constatly act as translators: from what board do you think they are? /pol/?

It's only just that /a/ dictates the way.

>>
>>332150
Because 4chan is a website made for discussing niche hobbys, one of the main ones it was for is anime. /a/ is a core board and its opinion will always be valued one of highest. It doesn't matter what the rest of the site says, because the majority of the rest of the site come here not for niche discussion but because "4chan is for shitposting", as such what they say and think means fuck all

It doesn't matter, because with Bunny in place and with what he has been doing, the site is going back to its roots like Moot wanted, and anime is here to stay and is allowed site-wide

If this bothers you, maybe 4chan just isn't for you, shitposter-kun

Toonami threads have a heavily enforced thread limit, 1 during the week for ratings and as many as needed on Saturday between 7:50-3am. Any others are deleted on sight. I think this is the agreed upon compromise that everyone is happy with.
