Why the fuck do we still have tripfags?
Literally what's the point.
Read the FAQ.
I use mine to track my posts in the archives
>>331017
So you can filter them.

Why would you need to track your posts on an imageboard
>>331060
Why not?
You're right, we should do away with tripcodes and just have persistent IDs across all boards.
>>331017
The only good use of a trips is when someone important comes to your board or someone makes really good OC and needs to be identified in following posts for a thread they created.

I use a trip so that people with no real critical thinking skills filter me on sight, such as >>331040. This way I won't have these people shitting up any of my conversations with their worthless input. So far, this result has shown itself plenty, so I'm not going to stop using a trip anytime soon.
>>331031
Never thought of that. Smart.

I genuinely have no idea. I guess some people just crave an "identity" so much that they tripfag.
I've used a trip on a very few occasions, namely when I've writefagged or GM'd something. Actions where my identity is crucial, and just makes it easier for everyone involved.
And even then I only do it upon request.
Never outside of that.
I do it for fun.

There is a limited use for it (that's very rarely used of course): identifying anons who are content creators or otherwise the point of the thread. Like an OP giving an update on a story, or fulfilling roll requests, updating a game or rolls thread or anything of the sort.
