Tipping is bullshit, and that's why I don't order service that is customarily paid for via gratuity, i.e. I pick up my food instead of having it delivered. Stiffing the delivery guy just because you can get away with it makes you a kike. He didn't handle it as well as he could have, but then again if he had better skills then he probably wouldn't be slinging pies to trash like OP.
Also, you shouldn't order from that pizza shop anymore. You are now known to be an asshole by them. I worked at a pizza shop when I was a teen, and there was a cork board where we kept track of the scammers, poor niggers, cheap kikes, etc. Your name also would have ended up on that board, and you would either be denied service or would get fucked up food. You should also know that there were times when I delivered food, drove back to the shop, and answered the phone and it was the person who I just delivered to complaining that I was rude or stoned or whatever and I would apologize and promise to discipline that driver. You could have been talking to the driver on the phone and not realized it. In any case, be assured that the employees were laughing at what a gigantic faggot you are, even if they did credit you $100.

Anyway, I deliver pizzas part time while i'm getting my degree. We assume (or are hopeful) that we get a tip when we bring you your food. $2-4 is the average. I've never heard of anybody making a scene for not getting a tip. However, if we get regular customers that we know tip well they get extra toppings and we deliver to them first, whereas people that are notorious for being rude/never tipping are not a priority. You can say this is unfair, but then again you could just get your lazy ass off the couch and come get it yourself. You are paying for the convenience of it being delivered to your door.

Capitalism is when the pizza driver doesn't make enough from the delivery fee and they leave for more competitive pay at other jobs, the entrepreneur has to consider ways to pay his drivers more to retain staff, such as increasing the delivery fee, if necessary.

I tip for their attitude. A smile and politeness is all I request in terms of service. I was a delivery guy recently and all I have to do is give them the pizza, charge them, say "would you like your change" if it applies, then "thank you, have a nice day"
Tipping for delivery should be by this formula
Satisfactory service = pizza cost × 10% × (distance ÷ 5km minimum of 5km)

Don't expect anything for <2min deliveries
Don't stop being polite to someone who didn't tip you (lots of people i know don't tip the first time to test the delivery guy) unless they were an asshole
Be very patient with old people and they'll be likely to tip you more than most for putting up with their difficulties (make sure to ask if they need any help if they appear to have difficulty lifting the pizza or walking to and from the door)

I work in food at an amusement park for a couple years now. This includes locations that are fast food tier, catering for events, helping cooks in kitchens run and prep food, and other things. None of which have ever been tipped for besides working the bar as a "bartender", which was basically beer catering. Even then, our company is rather against accepting tips.
The level of entitlement is probably scaled to the amount of tips they get on average. The more money in tips they make, the more defensive they are about keeping tips as a mandatory practice. Tips are gratuity, not a fee. To think that people who work a job expecting tips to define their work ethics is rather petty. Your wage is what pays for your service, not your tip.
