Also. There is no way to simulate 7.5 billion distinct lives into one basic average. We are talking about a gazzilion different factors from age, culture, ethics, beliefs, standards. The list is close to infinite.

Equality is only for pragmatism.
People should be treated equally, at least up until and definitely not including the outcome. This is about fair and equal competition, if the strong have incentives to be strong then more people will become strong thus strengthening society. In order to get an objective measure of strength, the people must be of an equal playing field.
But when mediocrity is promoted, the strong become disenchanted and even the mediocre themselves feel no need to excel as they knew their excellence wasn't what got them where they are.
