Yes, Ergodan was elected. But he has been giving himself more power and imprisoning critics, he has no intention of ceding power in an election and the Turkish military has recognize this. They have sworn their oath to protect their nation and its people based off their Constitution and are acting on it. They serve their nation, not a leader that is trampling rights and trying to make Turkey into an Islamist state.
