This. I often really enjoy gender bender shit like this. But usually when I see it it's done for creative reasons, not purely to serve a political agenda. This film could have been great with women. I think this movie will flop, but not for the reasons everyone is panning it for. It's clearly a forced attempt to capitalize off a old property in a way that would appeal to the "youth".
However I don't find the actors, effects or direction of the movie to be any worse than any other forced reboot. I fee like it's become a meme to hate on this movie for its perceived SJW nature due to a "female" cast. If you can call some of those things female.
