All i'm gonna say is that since Tito's death no balkan native had any real authority. Serbs and Croats were 2 separate tribes that both came to this area some 1400 years ago. Croats settled near the shore, modern day dalmacija, while Serbs settled further east, modern day Serbia and parts of Bosnia.
Every other ethnicity / nationality in the northern balkans is entirely made up, mostly for political reasons.
Montenegrins are Serbs. Bosniaks are Croats and Serbs who've converted to Islam during the Ottoman wars. Albanians are part illyric with heavy turkish mix. Genetic mapping confirms all this.
