Is there any difference between communism and nationalism?
Both would have given you toilets.
They're not mutually exclusive.

Communism is an internationalist ideology.
So it is the antithesis of nationalism.
One is good and other is a failed meme

Nationalism isn't an economic system, communism is.

Communists believe in a fairy tale scenario when everyone will abolish nations and private property and hold hands singing kumbaya together, but in order to achieve that, they must have a brutally dictatorial state where everyone lives as animals in overcrowded factories, while their children starve to death because the moronic dictator decided that cotton was more important than food.
Nationalists (which doesn't necessarily mean fascist or national socialist) believe that nations are necessary to society, because each population has a different culture, which means different views on ethics, governance, and society. Two diverse populations shouldn't mix because the differences in ideals will create tension and weaken the country, possibly to the point of collapse (such as Austria-Hungary, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, USSR, etc.). There are both capitalistic and socialistic brands of nationalism.

Is there any difference between Sprite and Coke Zero?
Theyre opposites
Communist think everyone is the same with same wants and needs
Nationalist think everyone is different and to each their own

Communists believe that all the people are equal and nobody should be unique
They strive to eradicate all the values, everything that unifies people in the groups, so there are only one group of people and they are easy to control
Nationalism believes that all people in a country should serve it's values, country and groups.
Nationalists believe that people aren't equal
