By party rules, both candidates must announce VP nominees by the start of their respective conventions. The party's reserve the rights to vote on whether to approve or disapprove a vice presidential pick, but this hasn't really come up much in the last 40 years or so.
So that means Trump has until Monday to announce (although rumors now suggest he will announce this Friday) and Clinton has until the following Monday.
So we should know both tickets before the 25th.
Clinton's picks are all pretty obvious - if she wants to pander to Sanders supporters she'll go with a far left pick like Warren or Castro. If she wants an establishment pick she'll probably go with someone like Warner or Kaine. Clinton is nothing if not predictable.
