Wait guys why didnt we
>>
>>80753571

The economic interest wasn't the only one behind the Iraq war, but still, nowadays we buy oil from ISIS so cheap that I'm driving a massive Hummer.
>>
>>80753571
It was only partially to do with oil. The main reason was Ameicas terrifying production capability. Without war the purchasing power to sustain their economy does not exist, essentially America is floating a bubble with constant warfare and a time of extended peace will see unemployment and recession on a biblical scale world wide

We just wanted to kill muslims. I'm glad it happened. 2 million plus dead sandniggers.

>we invaded Iraq for oil meme

You people do know that the US literally had to invade?

If a state invades a neighboring state (literally annexed Kuwait), does genocide on their own people, harbors terrorists, breaks nuclear non-proliferation treaty etc, the state loses it's sovereignty.

Surely Americans know this, r-right?

They stole it instead, and DOD contractors made billions in defense contracts. The American people didn't get shit from the Iraq war except ISIS. The bush administration profited billions though.

This.

>People still unironically believe we got an actual oil deal from being in Iraq. We literally spent more money freedomizing Iraqi fucking shits compared to any oil we ever got any benefit from.

PNAC wanted to transform Iraq into libertopia, but like all neoliberals they're Dunning-Kruger cases that mistake their ability to skim wealth for competence in management.

Would've worked if they hadn't banned Ba'ath party members from government and military. You had to be in the party to work in the public sector, so banning them just made us a bunch of enemies. It even interrupted a bunch of projects that were making good progress to stabilizing the country.

And because weapons for the military were stored in localized storage that the local commanders had access to, a bunch of these pissed off, now unemployed, military just joined militias.

Its int our interest for the middle east to be a shithole. A stable region will cause trouble with the strength of the dollar, especially if a commodity backed currency is used in favor of the dollar.

If you think about it, a dollar is nothing but an IOU. As long as those IOUs continue to circulate away from American banks, they'll never have to be cashed in for goods and services.

If rich arab countries tried to extricate themselves from trading in dollars, by buying up huge amounts of commodities and using another currency, like petro-dollars, it would:

1. Circumvent our trade embargoes
2. Destroy the dollar, which would fuck every working person in the united states.

The dollar is backed by "accept it or we will murder you"
Cant just say that unless you mean it.

Iraq is what's known as an oil hawk. They have less oil than say Saudi Arabia (oil dove). Hawks tend to sell the oil at high prices to get the most out of it. If the US wanted Iraqi oil they would have to spend lots of money to get it. We already have deals with Saudi Arabia for oil that's cheaper.
>>
>>80761473
What happened to your gold reserves?
>>
>>80753571

Why should you buy something if you can simply steal it.
>>
>>80753571
They weren't selling it in dollars.

For example, we would have to buy fag money (euros) and exchange it for oil.

The entire reason we went over there is still not clear.

Iraq decided to start selling the oil in Gold.

You'd have to give Gold Bricks to saddam hussein to buy their oil.

Plenty of other countries were willing to do that.

And it was at perfectly reasonable prices too. Gold bricks have a cash value yknow.

But the united states doesnt have any gold bricks to buy things with. The gold bricks in the federal reserve are all fake (Tungsten with thin outer coat of gold).

Because the people running the federal reserve all stole them and took them home and hid them. Because there's no oversight.

So they invaded.
Mission Accomplished.

Hit the vending machine a few times and made it start selling things in american cash again.

And they killed him for performing that stunt.

There was another man who did it too. A country in Africa just west of egypt. They killed that man also.
