A lot of the polls tend to be weighted towards Democrats and "independents" (i.e. Hillary or Johnson voters), usually whatever a poll says assume that Trump probably has greater support than what's shown because of it.

1. If you look at C v T v J, Trump is in margin of error.
2. What makes that worse is that some of the poles drastically over sample democrats. 2012 polls were well balanced, but this is out of control.
3. Even though democrats are over sampled by 10%, Hillary is not maintaining at 10pt lead.

The "polls". A poll is only useful if you look closely at the methodology. Nowadays a lot of polls are run in a way where the oversample one side over the other to make their preferred side seem stronger. This is why everyone thought remain was going to win, because many of the pollsters wanted remain to win.
I don't know why they do it though, it's a retarded strategy. It seems to me that the side that is "losing" may be more motivated to show up to vote while the side that is winning may feel safe and stay home.

Most polling is done through landline phones, or requires some sort of landline phone verification. Even cellphone/internet polls, ones that are actually used by "official" organizations like Gallup or Pew require a landline phone to "verify" the poll conducted.
