People divide themselves by race and prefer not to mix. Only when they are a small minority in a country do they attempt to mix. Whites in particular are the least likely to mix out of anyone, and their appearance is also the most distinct compared to the others.
Some groups will mix, but mostly they will reform into opposing groups anyway. People will always prefer to live with their own kind when mixing isn't enforced on them. Chances are genetic engineering won't be anywhere near as radical as you imagine since it's logistically infeasible to make people into random designer mutants with no medical infrastructure specific to them, and forcing everyone to become mostly the same would likely cause pain and death.
Even if you forced every living human to live in the same room, they would still break apart into cliques, cultures, dialects/languages, belief systems, and eventually ethnic groups. When they are spread out across the universe, they will still primarily interact with the people near them and their identity will still be based primarily on their location.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. It won't be much different from now unless there is an insanely powerful and tyrannical government constantly forcing people to destroy their culture, technology, beliefs, memes/temes, and racial differences. That's also probably going to be really hard to do and frankly it's unnecessary. Humans are still humans regardless of the year or their place or technology.

The most likely scenario is that A. Wyatt Mann gets to his senses and improves the world in the best way possible, resulting in a homogenous human race.
People will form relations and identities based on other things than nationality once "countries" are no longer relevant, think station names or areas in livingplaces, educational facilities, interests, or simple superficial differences.
People might break off or desert from the main Earth government before they can possibly retaliate and cause there to be other factions. Imagine if the first bunch of settlers to Mars, or even better; some distant galaxy, just decide to cease communications with Earth and instead live for themselves, it would be extremely hard to do anything about it, and if they had an able population they could directly compete in any future advancements so long as they had the necessary body of people in their realm. It also depends on the public view of the situation, if they are seen as terrorists the government would have a justifiable reason to undermine everything they do, even if they can't directly invade them. That's of course assuming Earth is under a single government, if the situation is still that there are a bunch of individual countries it will be incredibly easy for these rogue settlers to break off and create their own planet.
The most likely scenario in my opinion is that someone gets in charge without the yes of the men in the shadows and then they unleash nukes or better and then everyone dies.

If we're talking far future with genetic engineering, society will undergo the most ridiculous change.
