For example.
The estate tax includes something called the life time exclusion. That means if you dont pass on a certain amount you dont get taxed. Now when he says he wants to get rid of that tax does he want to get rid of the exclusion as well. If he does then that will raise the capital gains tax on normal people because they cant step up their assets.
TL;DR Getting rid of the estate tax will either cause middle class families to recognize capital gains on their assets when passing them on, or rich people will get a massive tax break.
