The place was basically a resort, it even had a beach that was fenced in. They were all really apologetic about Canada getting involved with the war, and remarked they would like to move here after the war. I have his War Medal 1939-1945.
My dad was a deckhand and engineer on Canada's last carrier. He was senior bird on ship, meaning he spent more time in the stockade than anyone else.
