Now I know there's this old fashioned notion that Metal is degenerate. However what /pol/ seems to forget is that metal is one of the last few genres of music exclusively controlled by white males.

I believe what I hear. Rock is something like Elvis, Beatles or Buddy Holly, hard rock is a little harder, but still rock, like Journey, Led Zeppelin, or the Scorpions. Metal is basically a lot more gloomy and hard than rock, and has unique riffs and elements like headbanging and long guitar solos.

I would have to say Periphery is probably my favorite "djent" band desu. I used to hate them because I couldn't stand Spencer's voice but his voice has improved substantially since their second album. Don't listen to much from djent aside from Tesseract's latest album, although some people like to call Meshuggah and After The Burial djent. I'm currently in a band right now and I have a song written about Hillary Clinton's LIES i would like to start working music for.

The latter use their lyrics to paint a nice portrait or tell a story, and metal, even as murder and comradery with satan fly out in the same sentence can be interesting in relative fashion when you can even make out the lyrics without looking them up.
