you can walk right up to the sarcophagus. We paid $150 to get a bus ride from Kiev, lunch, and a tour of lots of different stuff. They also give you meters so you can poke around and see how many radiationings different objects have. We found a piece of asbestos and it was almost five times higher than everything else.
Could have thrown a rock and hit the sarcophagus. People work there year round. They just are supposed to leave for a few days every couple of weeks.
