YET we do not use this ability. Instead of sharing the information immediately, without cost, we have patents and copyrights, and a huge business revolving around owning this immaterial property.
So, let me repeat. We're this natural animal species, and we develop the technology to share all our information with every other member of our species, but we don't collectively utilize this technology, because of the capitalist economic system!
And it's not just this question of immaterial property rights – the development of technology has surpassed the development of our social structures in all areas! We have the technology to feed all humans with a tiny fraction of the workforce, yet we do not do it! A billion people live in hunger! We have the resources, we have the technology, but we are wasting them with this inefficient and unjust economic system!
So, this development in technology must now result in a development in social relations, just as Dr. Marx predicted! The time is finally ripe for systemic change! This is our chance, rise up, comrades!
Submit to your sense of duty! Submit to destiny! Submit to the dialectical process, become an instrument of history!

I've come to the realization that communism is just a pipe dream, and you will too. The transitional stage between the modern world and communism is simply impossible to go through without economic pseudo enslavement. It's just not possible without the world getting fucked in the process. The world simply isn't post-scarcity and it never will be unless there is population control. Even if it were, the idea that a world society could be vigilant enough to stop the centralization of state power from becoming tyrannical is merely wishful thinking in the new age of propaganda flooding into every facet of life. Communism could have been a possibility had the world taken a different path from the time in which the idea was conceived and formulated, but not today. For now, we need a different solution, but maybe sometime in the future communism will be possible without destroying liberty in the process, but I just can't see it in the near future.

With 3D-printing and open source tools and what-not, it's possible for small communities to become completely self-sufficient. These communities, or communes will then organize politically against the oligarchs ruling society today. Some kind of socialism is inevitable. Not because of a Marxist revolution but because of the coming robotic and automation revolution. When 95% of the population can't feed itself because they lost their job to a robo nigger that works for free 24/7 you damn well know a massive chimpout will occur and those robo factories will be taken from the billionaires who own them and be collectivized for the good of society.
I think Marx was wrong on other things though. I don't see a stateless society ever truly becoming a thing, hierarchy will never go away, and people most certainly will NOT unite under class. Racialism/tribalism will always reign supreme.
