If Kurdish women can serve in the frontlines, why can't western women?
I used to think that serving in the frontlines for women was stupid, until I saw the Kurds doing it against ISIS and being effective.
So, how do you guys square these two things? I'm open to women serving in combat. Yeah, the tests they did showed that mixed-gender squads performed below the men only groups, but war is so mercurial that no test can really prepare you for it.
Thoughts?

Kurdish women soldiers are partly PR, partly freeing up male soldiers from rearguard duties for frontline combat. Makes sense for them, given their limited numbers and manpower shortage.

Hell I know many high school men who break women's world records. It's almost a prerequisite to even compete on the college level.

I left the navy just as they were bringing female officers on subs. Among the JRs and SRs there was a lot of resentment. They would get better mess decks, they would ne promoted over guys to get their representation up amongst higher ranks. My branch was already hard enough with all the SRs getting extensions. With the numbers of women they'd end up doing less patrols and getting more shoretime than guys. When they finally get into the JR and SR messes, banter will die as you can't have all the conversations we used to have. I'd also flat out refuse to do garbage with their bloody tampons.
