I've done the Uberman aka Da Vinci sleep schedule. At first you might find it good since you can now sleep and feel recollected. You think more clearly. Until you start to feel hungry all the time, get angry because you are always rambling since you are always thinking and straining your mind. You will get tired at the wrong times of day, aka if you are working or taking class you are fucked.

Basically it's only good for someone that wants to be creative like a painter or such and has no restrictions. Not a writer since they need a lot of time to wait and reflect which long amount of sleep often helps with. You can do like Dan Brown and just wake up at 4 AM every day and workout then start writing.

How I quit smoking:

I smoked for 2 years with stopping stretches of a few weeks to a month. Sometimes I felt a strong urge to stop but never enough to last.

10 months ago I realized it takes more than it gives back. And to quit I don't need willpower but an equally strong habit to replace it with.

Before I'd use nutrition, hydration, working out, all that crap but it wouldn't last. The thing that worked for me was cold showers. Ice cold from the minute you walk in until you're out, this after intense gym time and a 1 hour wait period that I chill to sweat off the toxins.

Cold showers make you think straight, make you stronger, in the winter you stop feeling the cold outside or you're comfortable enough to walk out naked, decrease depression, increase blood flow and better sleep.

Don't get it confused, if it's your first time you'll want to kill yourself. You must do it the whole way, not only the last minute or so. I'd first put it on my legs in, then stomach and then spray it all over. 2 minutes in and it's bearable enough to feel like you have it under control. I'd imagine I'm diving into a small lake so it doesn't seem so severe. It was tough the first few days but 10 months into it I just walk right into it. I now feel the same as before smoking 2 years ago, I can be around smoker friends who smoke their lungs out while drunk and still not feel temped to smoke.
