Actually, Mormons have a special interview prior to baptism for converts that literally requires the person to express faith in Christ and the 'restored gospel' (a term that they use for their religion).
Now, don't get confused, many Mormons like to say they 'know' the religion is true, and converts don't have to be at that level. But they do have to believe. Prayer and some reading of scripture are standard and required through missionaries before baptism. Ask your bishop.
