The pound is becoming like the zimbabwean dolllar, which means it's literally a meme currency. All brits will be 20% poorer because of thise idiots who voted brexit and guess who gets hit the hardest those who are the poorest won't be able to put food on the table and expect a lot more people to use foodbanks predictions are that by 2020 there will be 5 million foodbank users and the british gdp will be lower than spains gdp.

Memesters the pound has already dropped 1 cent expect it to drop 5 20 cents in the coming months idiots

Thanks a lot brexiteers, you all are morons

This was a revolution. But the political establishment has not actually been deposed: the Conservative party will continue governing, only with changed leadership. What was overthrown was a conception of where and how politics is conducted.

The starting premise of the remain campaign was that elections in Britain are settled in a centre-ground defined by aversion to economic risk and swung by a core of liberal middle-class voters who are allergic to radical lurches towards political uncertainty. They could be identified, profiled and targeted by the technical wizardry of professional pollsters. Their anxieties, hopes and priorities could be plotted on charts that would then be translated into simple messages. EU membership might thus be established in the minds of this audience as a proxy for security and continuity – the natural preference of the sensible majority, as reinforced by every institution that carried cultural authority; the experts would be heeded.

No. Brexitters are still in complete denial. Their view on this swings between saying it will bounce back or it will sink further and benefit our exports. But as we all know, Brexitters are economically illiterate. A few days ago they were showing the rise in FTSE100 as a sign of our success because they don't realize that index is made up of companies that get most of their revenue from foreign markets.

A weak pound will not do any good to out exports because we have almost no natural resources. We rely on a strong currency to import raw material. Any competitiveness that would be gained from a drop in the pound is offset by the fact the products we manufacture will become more expensive to make.

Fun fact: if the Pound drops to 0.9 EUR (it most likely will by the time the new PM takes office) our economy will be officially smaller than Italy's.

There is also a very high chance we will experience double digit inflation. We will be the first developed economy to achieve this since the 1970s. When inflation starts to creep in and eat peoples' income, then it is time to panic because we will enter a vicious cycle of eroding income and sky-rocketing government spending/borrowing

Credit goes to a sensible british poster

For Coetzee, the result reflected a debasement of Britain’s political culture: the traducing, with media complicity, of rational discourse by a leave campaign that targeted the very idea of factual argument. “We underestimated their willingness to be mendacious and xenophobic,” he said. “When a lot of people in a society feel that life has passed them by, they don’t much like their present and they don’t see a path to the future, offering them an enemy is not clever. It is easy. Nationalism triumphed over liberalism, populism triumphed over evidence and expertise; paranoia triumphed over trust.”

I'm tired of having this argument with anonymous people on the internet claiming they know what they're talking about, so I'm just going to quote a 3rd party expert.

> Paul Robin Krugman is an American economist, Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and an op-ed columnist for The New York Times.

> It’s true that the pound has fallen by a lot compared with normal daily fluctuations. But for those of us who cut our teeth on emerging-market crises, the fall isn’t that big – in fact, it’s not that big compared with British historical episodes. The pound fell by a third during the 70s crisis; it fell by a quarter during Britain’s exit from the Exchange Rate Mechanism in 1992; it’s down about 8 percent as I write this. ....

> Furthermore, Britain is a nation that borrows in its own currency, not subject to a classic balance-sheet crisis due to currency devaluation – that is, it’s not like Argentina, where the fall in the peso wreaked havoc with firms and consumers who had borrowed in dollars. If you were worried that fears about Brexit would cause capital flight and drive up interest rates, well, no sign of that – if anything the opposite.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/06/24/turbulence-and-uncertainty-for-the-market-after-brexit.html

I will never tire of assblasted Europeans losing their minds over this great uncuckening though.

People are taking their money out of the UK and betting on the US and EU. Do you seriously think people who have money to lose would wait until October when Theresa May or whatever retard becomes PM? They're taking action right now. From a financial point of view we're already out and the ice cream is already melting.

The only thing still open for debate is what kind of immigration deal we will get with the EU, which has no impact on investor confidence one way or the other

Stronger In became the holding company for a liberal centrist political concept that had been transmitted in varying forms through the rise of New Labour and the ascent of Cameron. This had been the bastion of political orthodoxy for a generation, but its foundations had been corroded. Parliament’s status never recovered from the expenses scandal. The financial crisis led not to a redistribution of power and greater economic security but to austerity, coupled with apparent immunity for the elite from any consequences of their prior mismanagement. The unique opportunity of a referendum was to give voters the option of punishing a generation of politics, regardless of party allegiance. Those who chose a different path are now left without leadership, barely recognising their own country; the stateless tribe of Remainia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_New_Zealand#20th_century

Britain applied to join the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1961, but was vetoed by the French. The government of Keith Holyoake reacted by attempting to diversify New Zealand's export markets, signing the first free trade agreement (Australia New Zealand Free Trade Agreement) in 1965,[105] and opening new diplomatic posts in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Saigon, Los Angeles and San Francisco.[91] Britain applied again to join the EEC in 1967, and entered into negotiations for membership in 1970. Holyoake's deputy and successor, Jack Marshall, (briefly Prime Minister in 1972) negotiated continued access for New Zealand exports to the United Kingdom under the so-called "Luxembourg Agreement".[106]

Britain gained full membership of the EEC on 1 January 1973, and all trade agreements with New Zealand came to an end, except the Luxembourg Agreement.[106] By the end of that year, only 26.8% of New Zealand's exports were to Britain.[107] This had a significant effect on the standard of living. In 1953, New Zealand had the third highest standard in the world. By 1978, it had dropped to 22nd place.[104]

Having lost unrestricted access to its traditional market, New Zealand continued to search for alternative export markets and diversify its economy. The Government of Norman Kirk, who succeeded Marshall, put greater emphasis on expanding New Zealand's trade, especially with South East Asia. Following the Yom Kippur War in October 1973, an oil embargo was put in place by the Middle Eastern oil exporters, leading to the 1973 oil crisis. This compounded New Zealand's dire economic situation further. Inflation greatly increased as the cost of transport and imported goods soared, causing standards of living to decline.[108]

You're doing a hell of a lot wrong.

Strategic bombers are absolutely incredible, you can destroy IC, supplies, infastructure and pretty much every static thing with them, they cost a lot because they're so good, plus they can deliver nukes when you get them.

Tactical and CAS are also good for supporting your troops, they literally win battles single handedly on occasion, and undoubtedly always save you hundreds of casualties.

Naval bombers can destroy ships easily, which is especially useful against Britain or America.

Most people neglect the airforce but it is actually incredibly useful.

A weak currency makes foreign products and resources more expensive, but it makes your economy more competitive by reducing relative wages, which may or may not lead to higher employment and more income/less spending for the government, so who knows whether this turns out to be a bad thing for the average Brit.

I read something about EU regulations forcing financial institutions to be incorporated or situated in the EU in order to do business there, which, if true, would wreck a good part of the British economy, but I never saw any actual evidence, and I'm not sure where to look it up.

Question for those talking about HOI/DH, should I get HOI2 or DH? I want to play that Kaiserreich mod but don't know if which game I need.

>New Zealand had the third highest standard in the world. By 1978, it had dropped to 22nd place

There's literally little no difference between 3rd and 22nd place and btw where's britain in that list, i bet sweden and all other rich eu countries including spain and italy outranks the uk in every possible way

>The pound is becoming like the zimbabwean dolllar
That's funny because the pound is still buying me as much tasty cheddar cheese as the equivalent in Kroner buys you of your local favourite.
20% poorer is pure fiction.

They continue to do it. The EU fucks over African agriculture and keeps them poor. That's why your country is full of Somalians. All to protect corporate agricultural operations in Europe who don't want the competition.

We have witnessed the biggest thing to happen to Britain since the Falklands War.
It was a climax now it's all downhill . . .we lost a hero (Are Nige) and a Prime Minister who quite frankly should have stayed on and put a brexit team together.

The elections for a new PM will be boring too, there are no outstanding candidates but despite what you read none of them are particularly bad, they are boring to be honest.

Like I said, it will be a bumpy ride but for the everyday folk like us it won't make a great deal of difference . . .. . although the price of Freddos might increase in the short-medium term.

>There's literally little no difference between 3rd and 22nd place
There actually is. There's a top group of maybe 5 countries that is about one tier, them there's another maybe ten countries that are second rate, then things get second world tier.
