This is kind of goofy desu, there are plenty good burger and chicken joints with a drive thru in most cities in the US run by locals where the average meal is a few dollars more and the employees are taken care of. One of the cornerstones of true capitalism is voting with your dollar instead of trusting politicians to make things "fair". If a business acts in a way you don't agree with don't buy their product. McDonald's has also seen 9 straight quarters of financial decline iirc so that's working to an extent. But that could have something to do with Chipotle going independent.

>They are the natural result of unrestricted capitalism.

No they're not. They're the natural result of socialism. When the government has to borrow money from big banks, and has to engage big corporations to help it provide services, it gives preferential treatment to those companies.

Those companies can then Lobby governments to introduce regulations that make it difficult - if not impossible - for new entrants and startups to enter the market. Kind of like the protectionist, socialist EUSSR that you currently live in.

Corporatism is the natural result of government replacing private enterprise. Limiting government power is the only way to ensure that private companies have no interest in lobbying/corrupting that government.

He also thinks that low wages are unacceptable.

I managed to convince him that uncontrolled immigration will always dump the wages of the lower class and keep them poor, but he still didn't change his mind. He acknowledged that obviously he can't have both, but he said he still feels that it is "the right thing to do" and in the end it will somehow work out because our leaders are smart and they will find a way.

Minimum-Wage-Comic.png

People who want a $15 per hour minimum wage do not understand the free market, or basic economics.

A simple way to visualize this is by instead of proposing a little 15 dollar minimum wage, lets go balls deep! Lets call it a 1 million dollar per hour minimum wage instead!

Would poverty instantly go away... and everyone live in mansions, work very few hours, live a life of luxury, and drive around in fancy cars? If you think so you are an idiot...

All that would happen is hyperinflation. A loaf of bread is about 3.5 bucks now. So with a million dollar an hour minimum wage...

You would not be getting a few hundred thousand magical loaves of bread for an hours work... Instead that loaf of bread would be in the 500,000 dollar range... That 15 dollar shirt... you wouldn't be getting a massive room full of them with many tens of thousands of them... no no no, you would be paying 2 million dollars for that same shirt.

Increasing money without increasing goods and services respectively does nothing productive.

Monetary reform is instead needed because the system is broken. It's a debt based currency where principle is created and not interest and the government sells bonds to the fed instead of printing the money itself...

You want to help the minimum wage people?

Raising that wage does nothing. Get rid of the usury class... That's what hitler did, and his country went from a depression to a golden age... Jews wouldn't have that though nope nope nope... They are top cuck now, but back in the day they were a shining beacon of freedom.
>>
I already pay more for goods made in first world countries by unionized labor.

Because that stuff is better quality and lasts longer.
>>
>>79923207

Why stop there?

Why not $50/hr?

I mean, they're human beings, for fucks sake. They need some quality of life.
>>

I had a similar discussion with a colleague at work about refugees.
She admitted that the facts were on my side, and that she doesn't have any counter-facts. But she doesn't want to live in a world where cultures and races are not equal, and therefore she chooses to ignore the facts. I'm amazed she admitted that I was factually correct, which is a lot of progress already since most liberals would've called me a nazi. Still, it's absolutely terrifying that smart people base their opinion on "muh feels" even when they recognize the facts are against them.
I am now totally convinced that nothing at all will ever change liberal's opinions. They could be slaughtered by muslims and would still defend islam to their dying breath.

Wages are compensation for your time in proportion to the value you provide. Not all jobs command the type of wages that allows you to support yourself and four kids.

Those jobs are meant for people that have next to no marketable skills and don't pay rent like teens and young adults. You're supposed to learn enough skills to move on to a better job after a while.

Don't make a bunch of kids or move in an expensive city if you can't afford to. I'm not even a lolbertarian, that's just common sense.

What about companies that don't produce protects in their country of origin?

Or is it better they take jobs overseas because they can't or won't pay wages in the US?
>>
>>79927581

Your employer doesn't owe you those things. They pay you in proportion of how valuable you are to the business, not how tough your life is.

If you have so little skills nobody will give enough money to afford those things, you are effectively depending on support from your family or social services until you get good enough at something to make it by yourself.

Businesses are in the business to make money or at least break even, not subsidizing people.
>>
>>79922690

Flawed argument, it would be "American" for a business to sense the desire in the market for ethical pay standards and to raise its prices accordingly by themselves, not for you to be a socialist communist asshole and make laws forcing them to give you more money.

If the market wants to pay more, the business will sense this and will make a niche for itself, as the service industry company that pays its employees more while adding the cost directly to the customer, who is encouraged to help people in need by supporting that company's model.

Good.

Luck.

2. MCDonalds pays more and expects more value out of employee like a degree or something, people that had no alternative but to work at MCDonalds are now unemployable

Fat ass Americans have even forgotten the word 'serving'... I'm embarrassed.

Oh, and the reason those people have to work 3 jobs now is that Obamacare requires anyone who works full time (30 hours or more a week) has to get insurance offered by their employer. Employers can't afford this so they get around it by suddenly having no or very, very few full time employees. To make certain that people don't have to stay late or get called in running them close to 30 hours (can't be full time, remember) they make sure to only schedule employees 20 hours a week.

Restaurants and fast food places all do this now. They can't afford not to. How the fuck are they supposed to cover the overhead for insurance for all of their employees?

So now, everyone who used to have a full time job suddenly had a part time job with no option for extra hours except to take another part time job- all for insurance that none of them get. Of course there weren't that as many part time jobs available as there were people who needed them so a sizable portion of all waiters, chefs or food service people were forced to file for partial unemployment or welfare or other support programs. Thanks, Obama!

That's $320 a month, income is relative to your living cost but that doesn't sound like much even by Polish standards.

That alone should explain libtards why many Britfags wanted out the EU tbqh.

Foxconn recently automated a huge part of their work force and they were paying $0.60 a day. Settling for low wages isn't going to stop automation. They will do it as soon as it's convenient and feasible, no matter how little their employees make.

Too true. Of course the people in that situation can now apply for the destitute priced insurance so there is that.

> Settling for low wages isn't going to stop automation.

Absolutely, if it makes financial sense it will happen. How fast depends a lot on how much of an expense employee are.

Automation is the only way factories are coming back to the US or EU. Nike has started opening factories in Germany, but almost nobody works there.

So far it primarily affects low skilled jobs but when self-learning narrow AI become commercially viable it will affect everyone.
>>
>>79936821
Its not going to stop it, but it will delay it for few more years. Hiking wages up will make the maximum starting cost of the upgrade to tech much lower.

Talk is cheap

I for one practice this principle. I never consume anything from corporations and only frequent small businesses

It's is disgusting the amount of people frequenting the McDonald's near me while small restaurants a are empty

Locally owned hardware shops are a dying breed but the lines ate hardware super store are out the door

Clothing shops are deserted while people are buying clothes en masse from corporations

Buy a coffee from a cafe not from McDonald's yo cunts

This problem is so easy to fix

>Buy a coffee from a cafe not from McDonald's yo cunts

They most likely go to Starbucks, even though average wage is $11 and the CEO make 450 times as much as the average employee

Well fug. You both make a good point.

I was just thinking that it's public perception stopping them from automating at this point and not wages but maybe higher wages make public perception seem a bit less important.
>>
>>79938053
Public perception accounts for nothing.

Lets face it, automation is sexy. Anyone resisting it will be called a luddite and with pretty good reason. The only thing keeping people employed is just that its profitable, not because its enjoyable.

Still, its inevitability, and in part, i would actually want the tech upgrade to come as fast as possible.

It will make base, uneducated humans obsolete, and with it, makes immigration from 3´rd world countries even more of an economically horrible choice than it is now.

The easiest way to stop globalization is to reduce an uneducated humans value below that of a dedicated machine.

Who decides on what's a living wage? You can afford food, water and shelter on minimum wage. People just want smart phones, high speed Internet, macbooks, new car payment, live alone, etc. Those are luxuries.

Typical privileged liberal.

"I don't mind paying...."

Did your rich white ass ever ONCE think of the poor? Of the single mother who can't find time to work? Of the laid off carpenter? Of those stuck in the welfare system?

No. You were too busy worrying about the teenager behind the McDonald's counter and making sure they can buy a nicer car.

Fuck you fake liberals

At this point, the effective bottleneck is the availability of capital - how much it costs to borrow the money to upgrade to automated production. In this day and age of Zero-Interest-Rates policies, the capital will be there to invest in machines.

But automation is no longer only replacing cheap labor. It is the middle income workers that should be the most worried. Higher productivity also means you need less people to produce the same output as before, if demands is limited that means less jobs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yrfJQe_hrs

That's why the Silicon Valley people are pushing for stuff like the Universal Basic Income even though it doesn't make sense.

On the upside, automation is good for consumers too, that's why we have affordable goods and service like smartphone and shiiieeet. Soon enough we'll all be NEETs playing vidya in a dark basement.

I'd happily deal with a machine instead of a snobby entitled brat that thinks they should paid $15 a hour for a fucking job that is meant for high school kids that want some money to spend not to fucking live on.

machine burgers will be sooooooo consistent & perfect i just cant wait
my main problem with fast food is each time its a gamble
you might get cold fold, you might get the wrong order, or your custom order was just fucked up
but with a machine, you choose EVERYTHING & it does it EXACTLY right & you can expect the SAME THING every time
i want it NOW REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
