I am from an immigrant family Aus Bro,
We came here legally, leaving Romania behind while the country went into chaos.
My family was well off there, owned a villa and property right in the heart of town, in ROmania we were upper class, maybe in the 10%.
Here, we were poor but damn it the country seemed to not be run by shady deals, it was a chance for prosperity and not corruption. My father passed, we stayed poor but my oldest brother is now a doctor for the navy in Japan, my middle brother is very close to becoming a sheriff and I in my own field have been doing very well and finishing college.
To see this..to see this happen finally put the nail in the coffin that this is the same shit all over the world. Fuck today. It broke my heart.

I think the whole natural law thing was where the founders were wrong. A good society is based on common sacrifice and trust, which, because of the law of self-interest, requires a shared identity between the people. Each person's 'self' needs to overlap with the others enough to make sure that their pursuit of their 'interest' doesn't break the social order. The conception of natural law as it applies to social organization needs to include identity. Any attempt at creating purely rationalist moral systems is flawed because we are basically tribal creatures.

>>
>>79885368
I agree, I'm saying that natural law is self interest though, and that natural law as it applies to society is a universalization of this self interest principle. That's where the idea of individual rights comes from: the recognition that it is in our mutual self interest, as a people, to protect it, as an immutable principle. Shared identity is the only way to practice the universalization of natural law, though. Because of this, as America becomes more and more divided, the protection of constitutional rights will be less and less possible.

Natural law isn't self interest. There are myriad ways to conceptualize and structure natural law.
"Shared identity" is a nonsensical idea. You're essentially identical only to yourself - you're only you, no more and no less. Other people are irrelevant toward your identity.

There is a difference between discipline for people working within an a bureaucratic agency and criminal punishment. It's the difference between someone bottom of the rung FBI agent mishandling sensitive information and Hillary. All that statement claims is that some sort if internal punishment would occur if that person was still working there.

That being said, Hillary is still guilty of everything. The excuse for not prosecuting was basically "it wasn't on purpose" which is bullshit. Negligence is legitimately not an excuse for this action.

Nope. Altruistic behaviour is the lifeblood of a good society. Altruistic behaviour only happens when you see yourself in someone else, whether its because they look like you, think like you, dress like you, whatever it is. Tribalism. Kinship. Looking out for 'you and yours'. Rationalism is pure hokum, humans are emotional first, rationality is a much more superficial part of our nature, and if your conception of natural law is not based on human nature it is basically religion. Might as well base your society off of sharia law.

"security and administrative sanctions" are not the same as a criminal indictment. this was a criminal investigation. FBI couldn't find enough evidence to bring a criminal indictment, so therefore there's really nothing they can do.

in other words, think about all the things that could get you fired at your job that aren't actual crimes you could get arrested for. Imagine you do something at your job that would get you fired, and your boss calls the police to investigate. They can't find anything to lead to your arrest, but you're still fired.

Doesn't disqualify from running, but people frothing for her to be prosecuted missed the whole part of the FBI director just blasting the shit out of Clinton for being unprofessional and incompetent for using a private e-mail system, That by itself feeds into the narrative that she's untrustworthy and not qualified to lead.

The fact the he went that extra step to condemn Clinton's actions speaks volumes of the pressure he was under to say she should be prosecuted, but did that as a middle path since there was no precedent for prosecution in previous cases. There's also the time this was released which was Tuesday morning, which is when you get the most amount of people paying attention as opposed to a Friday afternoon which is when people who want to cover up stuff release information.

So yeah, her reputation takes another hit and I'm sure the Trump Meme machine already got some good ones out to use. Like the system is rigged for the elites, or Clinton is a crook.

It's funny, in her campaign speech today when she was introducing Obama she cheered his saving of the economy in 2008, which of course he did by bailing out the big banks

I was referring to her trying to delete her emails which is the 'cover up, damaging of or destruction of classified materials'
>>
>>79896824
If you looked at the report that wasn't the case and any e-mails that were deleted were done to keep things tidy. Also, they listed all the e-mail chains that involved confidential and upwards information and as of this point, they haven't said if any of those were deleted.

So unless you can prove they were deleting e-mails to cover things up like Nixon did in deleting tapes, you're only using conjecture which has no merit.
It's sad that I hate Clinton because she's a corporate whore, but also follow the rule of law so I feel the need to say why you're all retards for thinking anything was going to come out of this. Same shit with Bengazi.

You don't have to prove they were covering thing up. Damage and destruction of classified materials.

Good Goy

Except they didn't delete any of the e-mails retaining to classified materials, and even if that were the case, they were only discussing it and it wasn't the deletion/destruction of the original documents which the law pertains too country that will only be know for where Lord of the Rings was filmed.

This sort of thing has happened for a long time. Every few years some poor FBI agents will try to stop some big banks from laundering money for the mexicans and everytime they get off with a slap on the wrist fine because arresting the scumbags "would cause economic panic".

Should have just let the germans stay in control of your country during the first world war.

Also, prove me wrong on the e-mails using evidence that was found by the FBI during their investigation.

Ignorance of the law is not a defense. It may mitigate the punishment but it does not change the fact of guilt.

Under FOIA rules, nothing may be deleted for any reason.
>>
>>79901252

And if those happened, the FBI would have made not of them and the violations to the FOIA or any relevant regulations and laws.

But since it didn't happen, the didn't.

My thinking is that Comley REALLY wanted to recommend and indictment but someone above his head said no, so he dropped this almost intentionally Orwellian quote as a subtle "Fuck you" to Clinton. It's too perfect not to be, honestly.

At least Hillary can't kill all of us if enough people vote Trump and he gets elected (right?)

Or will she be like the Mad King in ASoIaF?

You're taking his statement out of context. The FBI is saying that what Hillary did is worthy of punishment at the administrative level (i.e. from Obama, or at least the DNC), but not criminal.

If you read the entire statement and not just the most butthurt-inducing line, you will see what I mean.
