There’s no way to move to San Francisco unless you’re pretty rich these days. I went to private schools here in the late 80’s and they were 7k a year then. Now they’re closer to 30k. There are so many rich people here that there are lots of private schools. The problem we’re having is that teachers can’t afford to live here. The public schools are short something like 40 teachers right now because no one is willing to commute that far for such a low paying job. I’m able to stay here because we have rent stabilization so my rent never really goes up. I certainly hope the wealth gap decreases here. It’s real hard to achieve the American dream these days.
