As a Remain voter my only morsel of enjoyment is watching the utter chaos this has brought on everything Brexit related. I really hope what the Brexit voters wished for is slowly coming back to haunt them. In 10 years we'll have just as many immigrants as we do now and realistically a lot more. We'll be at the mercy of EU rules if we want to enjoy (need to have) trade with Europe, only now we'll have no power to veto any rules that come out of Europe. The UK will no longer exist after Scotland leaves. Gove will have destroyed the NHS as he's long been a proponent of and we'll all have a wonderful U.S. style privatised health service and all the EU rules that safeguarded our rights at work will have been scrapped because the Conservatives will claim, "We need to remove all your once EU mandated statutory holidays, minimum wage and maternity leave in order to make UK businesses competitive." and business taxes will have been slashed to entice companies here but doing so will screw over all our other public services that'll be raped dry of funding: hospitals, police, fire brigade etc. Enjoy them now because in 10 years they'll be unrecognisable.
My suggestion, have any niggling health concerns? Get them looked at now before you start having to queue for years or pay for it. Enjoy Brexiters. Enjoy the cesspit you've dragged us in to while the leaders who led you there flee in their droves.

>Either movement is free or it isn't

That's the problem, that we see it this way. Just like we see "in the EU or out" or "in the eurozone or out". It's not all horizontal and it is possible to have free movement that is regulated and controlled.

Yes, then it won't be free movement, but the principle will remain and the ideal will still be there.

>So you think they'd rather go to WTO rules and cause havoc in some very important member state economies than allow visa restrictions on migrants to Britain?

Probably. The point is, Britain won't want visa restrictions to EU migrants. That simple won't happen.

>This will put the Council at odds with the Commission - who's going to win?

The Commission is made up of employees to the Council. It has no independant voice, even if it appears to. It's quite simple to understand the relationship between the institutions, really. The Commission is a freelance employee in a leading position in the service of a big company and the board of directors is the Council. If you were, let's say, chief coordinator a big firm and you became at odds with the board of directions, what would happen?

It will if the Tories ever plan on winning an election ever again. If you've been paying any attention to British politics over the last few weeks, these people will do anything to ensure that they do.

Either Europe caves on this or they set fire to their own economies. Either Europe reforms or we have Eurozone crisis Mk. II. That's before deutsche bank even melts down.

Won't happen mate, it really won't. Trust me. There will be negotiations, true, but Britain will never push for it nor make it a big issue. ESPECIALLY if Theresa May takes over.

>Either Europe caves on this or they set fire to their own economies. Either Europe reforms or we have Eurozone crisis Mk. II. That's before deutsche bank even melts down

That the economies will be on fire and we will have a new crisis is true, but also irrelevant from the visa restrictions. Tell me, what exactly do you think denying visa restrictions will actually even do?

Britain's current membership is far superior to being in the EEA. We're exempt from a lot of the crazier shit they do whilst still having full member perks in the bureaucracy.

Some. On some you will regain it.

EEA excludes fisheries and agriculture, so yes. That said, the EU would want to negotiate a continuation of fisheries policy, but I doubt anyone would care so much, because you'd fish yourselves out of the market in about a few years and Spain would naturally take over.

career politician means something different to what you think it means

a career politician generally describes to somebody who takes the following career path:

>go to university
>join a political party
>work for up to 1 year for a government body or government/EU funded 'charity'
>get a job as an assistant to an MP or MEP
>become MP
>profit indefinitely
>never work a proper job in your life

nigel, while creaming plenty of money from the EU, has done the opposite. he is not a 'career politician' in the classic sense of the term.

Go right ahead, Spain and the rest have already dealt with the losses of a sustainable fishing policy, they will be ok with Britain fishing itself out of the market.

>I thought you hated the EU's corruption?

Yup, but I quite like the fisheries agreement. I have a dream of one day building a tiny company of fishing boats and retiring on a coastal town. Fisheries policy ensures that fish will exist by then.

>>79719258
Yes, Nigel has done exactly what you said except with a break for 17 years to be a trader in the city. As I said, if that's your argument, I'm ok with it. He's not a career politician because he has had experience being a trader in the city.

>Besides, I already said, i'm ready to accept your argument if him not being a career politician is because of becoming a trader. Because that isn't really in his favour that much...

i will bite down on the belgian bait yet again.

you are reading the two words 'career politician' and interpreting them literally, in the dictionary sense. somebody who is a politician for >10 years is not a 'career politician'. the term has to be seen in it's original context: somebody whose only aspiration in life is to get into politics and achieve power for the sake of it, for narcissistic, financial or sociopathic reasons. nige did so out of principle, whether you agree or profoundly disagree with his politics, he did so out of principle and not a desire for money or power, clearly, because he joined a losing party on a losing issue because he believed in it. this is in stark contrast to genuine career politicians: people who join the labour or conservative party straight out of university (it literally doesn't matter to them which party. they have no principles) and aim to get elected by saying and doing whatever is required.

Nowadays, he's turned full cuck. He refuses point-blank to see any benefits in Brexit, he snidely accuses all leavers of racism, and legitimately uses "little Englander" as an insult.

At least he still churns out his autistic posters all full speed.

Didn't he pretty much do that though? He campaigned to get on an EU payroll by talking euroscepticism, which was an easy, untapped market in Britain.

It's only necessary and vital because you like him.

That said, the career politician thing is also meant to say politicians who have no touch with reality and have not led a regular life.

And it was pathetic and humiliating for him. The worst mistake a popular man can make is not knowing when to stop. Better to die in battle than fade into obscurity. Better to depart at the height of your fame than fuck it all up in the later years. Wellington's biggest mistake was surviving Waterloo to become Prime Minister. He should have had the foresight to die like Nelson did.

They won't. A country leaving the EU will make the Union stronger, paradoxically. I think it's what juncker & co. wanted deep in their hearts. They wanted someone to leave, so that they could try to make their economical life so hard and punish them so much, that all other countries wouldn't ever want to emulate them. But I doubt they thought UK could actually do it. Hungary maybe, or Austria, but no UK. That was a very unexpected thing for them. But I doubt the economical strength of the union will suffer from a single member leaving the eurozone, even if it's the UK. There will be some fluctuations but I think that UK is risking way the most here. Their call though, I don't give a shit
