The first meatbag died while inside a rudimentary autonomous tesla car. This will not stop the progress towards AI-driving and the end of human-driving.

Turn in your keys meatbags, it's already over for you.

Autonomous vehicles will save the American economy over 1 trillion dollars a year. That is much more money than 1 fucking meatbag's life is worth.

Get fucking meatshits.

I think people today are so attached to technology and there is a natural pessimism to western society, that people don't care about this. With global news of terrorism and shit, the outrage over a car crash is nonexistent

autonomous vehicles look like they have a clear green light possibly. Tesla's move to push it on the consumer through a "beta" seems to be paying off.

Eh, people were afraid of horses, then of trains, then of cars, ... I doubt there will be any sort of obstacle in the mainstream introduction/implementation of self-driving cars.
Plus: it will be so much cheaper to just call some car, than owning your own shitty thing you're barely using anyways... I mean, it's not like in the future people would own their very own self-driving car. There will be fleets of those guys, used like a service. Much more efficient all around.
Not that (manually driven) cars will go away completely, but it probably will be reduced to some sort of sport or hobby. F1/Nascar for the plebs.

Government will not allow it. Right now insurance policy and laws make it mandatory for a human to be in the driver's seat at all times. You're looking at at least 10 years before an actual driverless car (without a human being in the driver's seat) becomes a reality.

"Driverless cars" should more accurately be called "autopilot cars". And then we can stop pretending that autopilot, invented over 50 years ago, is a new technology.

You are responsible for your car following all traffic laws even if you didn't realize you were breaking them already. For example, if you get oversized tires, you can easily be 10% or more faster than your speedometer indicates, but you can still be ticketed if you speed because of this.

Driving is a waste of time

It's unpaid work

Let the computers do it

"I enjoy driving" - freaks like you will be contained to private land where you can risk your own life
>>
>>79692376
At least we have private land

I can't tell if this was a person in the car or an actual bag of meat used to mimic a person

people who refuse to use AI driving will have their atoms repurposed for useful things.

>Who asked to not have to drive anymore
I hate driving, it is just a boring waste of time. I could make it fun by speeding but the insurance increases for getting tickets sucks so I'm stuck driving 60 mph in a strait line for 2 hours because the south doubts that people can drive over 55 on a straight empty road without killing themselves.
>>
7 don't get what the arguing is about. The truck driver fucked up and took priority of the tesla. I doubt a human driver would have been able to react in time and even if he would have tried to get around it and probably crash into incoming traffic making everything worse.
>>
>>79691584
this shit is scary man. i work on cars (worked on car my entire life) the shit i see in new cars is just too fucking spooky! tl;dr i wont buy or drive anything with electric steering, brakes or too many fucking computers.FUCK THAT! No OBD MASTER RACE!

So How do you keep Teslas from being hacked and smashing your ass into a divider or palm tree at 90 mph?
>>
>>79694799
The same way you stop one from hitting while you're walking down the street or watching tv in your living room
>>
>>79694896

Your response is cancer. What keeps a tesla from being hacked and running someone over?
>>
>>79695019
My point was that it doesn't matter if you are driving it or not, we are all in danger. Fucking security keeps it from being hacked, you dumb shit nigger. Do you not know how fucking computers work?
>>

And that radar is useless until it can solve the ethical question of who lives or dies(2 tracks). You can say that engineers can improve it but its hard due to the unpredictable nature of being. The only way that it could work to a degree of perfection is if everyone had it and without legislation it wont.

I never said it was unable to be hacked. You can't prevent it from being hacked. Elon Musk didn't invent a non hackable computer. His question is a stupid one because there is no answer to how you keep it from being hacked because you can't. That's why he's a dumb shit nigger, and now you are too

Simple. User chooses, car follows user choice. User is legally responsible for car actions, if applicable.

Self driving cars would probably end negro car crimes, without the ability to control their cars negros would be forced to to go to set locations.

federal agencies have had access to this kind of bullshit since the 90s. They don't need a warrant to point a laser at your window and listen to everything you say in your house.

No

the guy wasn't paying attention

the car's 'open beta' of self driving ASSIST mode says you need to look at the road

driver was just a piece of shit/ retard and paid the price for placing his bets on a machine that is unproven

google has self driving cars in a big fleet that test all the time with sensor arrays on top clearly shown and thousands of hours and millions of miles of testing (Source those pieces of shit need to get off my streets we have enough traffic REEE) , a tesla is not a self driving car and that idiot paid the price for thinking it was.

Did you also calculate the lost tax revenue due to massive loss of jobs from the transportation industry. In future they'll probably need only one tenth of the workforce they have today mainly for taking control cars with malfunctioning A.I from a distance.

If a guy can hack a pace maker that is rare and hard to get your hands on, people will independently figure out how to hack vehicles that have computers and any wireless diagnostic tools or wireless navigation updates for driving.

You won't know the difference between an assassination and an accident because "too big to fail."

How about instead of making individuals drive around in self driving cars we just update public transportation in the us to not be so fucking 3rd world.

Sometimes you tech enthusiast miss the simple solutions while overlooking major flaws in the solutions you like.

i guess you didn't take econ 101. this means i only will have to pay 1/2 the cost or a lot less for the driver less car. Plus, taxes are immoral anyways, and robots are going to take the jobs anyways.

human drivers will no longer be needed in 5 years

Thousands of people died during the transition from sails to steam driven ships.

It was worth it though to not have most of the crew involved in actually sailing the ship.

When people die in a AI driven car, it just shows that there is stuff beyond the control of the driver.

Also: why the hell do you have crossroads on a high speed road?
This would not have happened in Germany.
