Thought I saw his face from somewhere, has he really done nothing other than that? He's just some no name "celebrity" game show panelist?
>>
>>79559089
He was on the Daily Show, that the only thing of note I remember him in.
>>
>>79559089
Here he's a 'that's whats his face, wasn't he on [insert panel show] a couple of times' list celebrity. He might have been on live at the apollo a couple of times but I've never seen him, not even in Dave re-runs.

He is right though. The pound still hasn't recovered. Breshitters fucked up our economy for nothing. Unless we want to lose our financial passport, we will be forced to accept a Switzerland or Norway style deal with the EU. What the retards forgot to mention during the campaign to all the dumb plumbers is both countries are part of the Schengen Area.

TL;DR: we will still pay the EU, still accept mass immigration, our currency is fucked, the deficit is not expected to become a surplus until at least 2025 and we lost any power of negotiation we had within the block.

Also lots of banks are already relocating to Frankfurt.

gg Jewkippers, you are literally dumber than John Oliver.

That is a defeatist attitude. The media was saying the UK would remain, but you showed them wrong with a democratic vote.

You can't just sit and whimper in the corner now that you're a sovereign nation. Do something.
>>
>>79562550
We're waiting for the new pm to pull the trigger on article 50.
>>
>>79562115
FTSE is up you cunt, calm your fucking jets the pound will recover...
>>
>>79562550
Not defeatist. I was against brexit from the start. The leave camp didn't think things through. And all the stupid voters believed in the Farage meme that because we import cars from Germany that would give us a massive bargaining power at the negotiation table. The idiots thought WTO rules on the trade of goods apply to services and finances too, that was the level of economic illiteracy of these people.

If you put aside his annoying leftism, John Oliver was spot on in his post-Brexit video. Everyone on the Leave camp back-pedalled on the two major issues of immigration and how much extra money the government would have available. Now they all went silent. BoJo isn't running anymore, Nigel hasn't done anything but further antagonize the very bureaucrats who will decide the terms of our departure and Michael Gove is candidate but hasn't said anything since the vote. All the other Brexit supporters are dead silent because they realize the fuck up they made.

What's more hilarious: the Tories were split 50/50 on the referendum, but now the vast majority of them support a Remainer who won't even trigger article 50 until next year.

Screencap this post. A year for now you will see the UK making a u-turn and deciding not to leave. It will be the most humiliating diplomatic event in recent memory.

>FTSE is up

Do you even know what the FTSE is? There's a bunch of companies listed there with the largest revenue sources being outside of the UK. Now have a look at our banks which rely on the domestic market.

HSBC is an exception because again, they generate more income outside than inside the country.

Your economy was based on your own slavery.

That's why your economy crashed.

You will simply have to rebuild a new economy based on your new freedom.

Once you accomplish this, you'll be secure, in addition to free.

But you didn't win a final victory. You only won a fighting chance. Now it's time to fight for victory.

My friend said leaving the EU means the UK can't change their border laws. Is that true?
>>
>>79568880
Wat?
>>
>>79568880
We can change it any time, but accepting freedom of movement is a requirement the EU imposes on any country that wishes to have free access to their services and financial markets.

This doesn't apply to the trade of manufactured goods because that falls under existing WTO rules.

Basically we could close our borders with no consequence if we had a manufacturing economy. But our wealth is based on banking, insurance etc so we have to abide by the freedom of movement rules.

It's like the loyalists being to scared to break away from England all over again.

The reason remain failed was because it relied solely on "what if" and fear. It was about maintaining the status quo because we should be afraid of everything. It was not about seeking to improve your country.
>>
>>79570816
Theres no one to blame but the two big parties themselves. For decades they did everything they could to de-industrialize our economy while turbocharging the financial sector. Then the Tories called the referendum because they were starting to lose voted to UKIP.

It was a promise they never expected to keep because all the polls were showing they would need to make a coalition with the LibDems again, who wouldn't let the referendum go through. When they won a surprise majority in 2015 they hastily put together a half-arsed referendum and appointed the biggest clowns in their party (Boris Johnson and Michael Gove) to head the Leave camp while leaving UKIP out of the official campaign in the hopes Nigel Farage wouldn't be given a lot of media attention.

The plan backfired because even though Farage wasn't officially a campaigner, all the Media outlets invited him to interviews and debates and covered his own independent campaign more than the official. On the day before the referendum, Tory brexitters signed a letter saying they would like David Cameron to remains as PM no matter the outcome, the whole thing was such a massive stitch up it was painful to watch how it went south so quickly. At this point nobody in the Tory party has any fucking idea what they're doing! Their certainty of Remain winning was so big they never bothered to draw up a strategy on our leave negotiations. Cameron jumped off a sinking boat and now Theresa May is the only one shameless enough to go to Brussels, apologize and make a u-turn on Brexit in 2017.

This parody sums up pretty well what's happening in the country right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbFhlfnJep0

We were never slaves to anyone. The conservatives have been scapegoating the EU since 2010 to hide their own incompetence. Did you know Geert Wilders, a right wing Dutch politician was banned from entering the UK because of his "offensive" views? Yes, banned! So long for the bullshit excuse we are unable to stop criminals from coming into the country. The freedom of movement rules state very clearly a country can stop EU citizens from entering if they present a danger to the public.

If all the poor people in Europe comes here to get a free home and healthcare, the problem isn't the EU, it's our own nanny state. No other European country allows you to walk into a hospital without any ID and get free healthcare. They all have some kind of insurance contribution system in place. Even so-called socialist France has it.

If the government really was concerned about mass immigration they could start by making our welfare system a little more selective when handing out benefits. But they won't do that, because they know the same poor fucks who are mad at Polish immigration also feel entitled to other people's money and free healthcare.
