Growing up, visiting Europe was a pipe-dream for me, because I grew up in a working class family, and airline tickets are prohibitively expensive, not to mention the flights themselves are arduously long.
So, what are my most reasonable options for leaving the country? Lets take a look.
1) Islander countries like Fiji, Tonga, Rarotonga, Samoa etc. They're just beeches, islanders and tourist traps. New Zealand is already a beautiful country. I don't need a coconut beach.
2) Australia. I've been here a couple of times. Australian and New Zealand culture are so similar, you could call the Big New Zealand. Different, but nothing new. Also, it's hot as shit.
3) Thailand, Papua New Guinea and other SE Asian countries. I could go here, but crime, poverty and corruption, right?
It's also ~1100km from Christchurch (my city) to Auckland (our main city). That's not that far (~1.75 hour flight), except when you consider it's almost twice the distance of Cologne to London. And it's still farther than Hamburg to Oslo.
So yeah, I want to see the world, because all I know about it is from television, wikipedia, and 4chan. Even if it is a "shithole that is any German speaking country".

Since Germany is very densly populated, it will be hard to find wide areas of untamed forrests and these rare areas are usually nature protection zones, so you can't camp in there or even access the area. You will find a lot of forrest in Hessen, it has the most, but for wolve habitats you will have to go to East Germany to the Polish border.
