Give me reasons why making healthcare affordable to all would be bad?

Also this isn't communism.
>>
>>79448021

Who pays for the affordability of this healthcare?

If your options are:

>the government
>the middle class
>the rich with high taxes

then I'd consider that a wealth transfer, which is the corner stone of communism.
>>
>>79448719
By the way, taxing the rich is just taxing employees, so if you think you're just magically creating money by taxing the rich and you're avoiding taxes you're kinda insane.

>Invest in infrastructure
Generally good, no complaints here but have to consider where the money is coming from and other potential uses

>Fossils to Renewables
No complaints here, but again its going to cost money, and have to consider logistics of installation and capacity usage

>Unions
Fuck no, maybe back when workers were getting exploited on the regular, now they usually cause more harm than good

>Minimum Wage
You can't just "raise minimum wage" and then expect everyone to magically rise out of poverty

>Equal pay
Sounds like this is some bullshit driven from the "muh 75 cents" false statistic, there is equal pay for similar candidates in similar jobs

>Reform Trade
Oh so lets just jack up massive tariffs to make American-manufacturing more competitive, that won't cause any problems

>College Affordable
Agree with this one, maybe the government shouldn't be guaranteeing all these loans giving colleges free reign to set costs

>Break up Big Banks
I'm not sure what the whole issue is with "big banks", seems like its more of a bogeyman than a legitimate issue

>Healthcare availability
Yeah I can see how this could be useful, but when you try to enact it in a country like the US where every fucker is suffering from sort of self-inflicted problem (Obesity, Smoking, etc.) itll do nothing but raise premiums and encourage more bad behavior, needless doctor and hospital visits

>Expand Gibs-me-dats
I think this goes without saying why this doesn't solve anything.

>Tax Code
This could definitely use some simplifying, but by reform he probably just means "tax the big companies and rich at ass-fuck high levels"

tl;dr
few good points, overall its a massive money suck and seems to do more harm than good.
>>
>>79452797

>You can't just "raise minimum wage" and then expect everyone to magically rise out of poverty

b-b-b-b-but anon, if everyone has more money to spend, they can live outside of poverty!!111

t. communist who doesn't understand that doubling wages would result in everything else also inflating.

>seems like its more of a bogeyman than a legitimate issue

It is an issue.

The "too big to fail" meme is what boomers unironically believe in and will result in an absolutely massive collapse.
>>
>>79447451
The only way you could make it easier for workers to join a union is if you forced them to at gun point.

The thing with finance is that it's so interconnected it doesn't really matter if it's one institution or many - just look at the S&L crisis that happened back in the '70s / '80s, and there are some advantages to having one institution as opposed to 500
>>
>>79452797
Breaking up big banks is kindof a misnomer. The complaint is, big banks don't service poor communities, therefore we need to break up banks so communities can have local banks. Which on the surface is all well and good, except it's all the rules and regulations which don't allow banks to service poor communities. In reaction to the housing market crash, we let the pendulum of banking regulation swing too hard the other way.
>>
>>79447451
Come to my country because you're not doing your flag any justice
>>
>>79447451
Lol the country would be bankrupt before he's through the second step
>>
>>79453771
Banking at it's core isn't meant to service the poor.
A lot of the crisis was caused by deregulation allowing for poor people and others to get all these loans and things they otherwise shouldn't have had access to
>>
>infrastructure
good, he'll probably continue investing in war torn countries that blow up infrastructure however

>fossil fuels to renewable
the only green technology that can sustain the US' energy consumption is nuclear. Bernie wants to ban nuclear. solar and wind are dead ends

>expand unions
oh god no. unions don't do anything anymore, they just get in the way

>raise the minimum wage
inflation is fun

>equal pay regardless of sex, gender
already did this over fifty years ago

>reform trade policies
good

>make college affordable
he won't be decreasing prices, he'll just make the government pay them. this creates unlimited demand and allows the colleges to dictate prices. if the government gives colleges a set amount of money then college will just become high school 2.0

>break up the big banks
it doesn't really matter if there are multiple banks or a single bank but sure this might slightly decrease the chance of recession

>healthcare for all
good, but much like college he'll have to address why healthcare is expensive to begin with

>expand welfare
why does he want to continue to destroy the black family?

>reform tax code and close loopholes
good, but Bernie would turn this into a witch hunt against millionaires and billionaires

This communist at heart will never win. Get over it
>>
>>79449397

>Taxing the rich is just taxing employees

I'm not even sure how to respond to this stupidity anymore.
>>
>>79455707

>Unions don't do anything anymore

Objectively and entirely wrong. Unions help in the deliberations of government regarding things that affect worker's rights and they are the barrier against large companies just casually fucking over their workers.
>>
>infrastructure
good
>fossil fuels to renewable
great, could avoid wars
>expand unions
pretty bad idea desu
>raise the minimum wage
could work if it's not immediate, 15$ is to high but 10-11$ works here well in WA
>equal pay regardless of sex, gender
meme
>reform trade policies
good
>make college affordable
great
>break up the big banks
i don't know why conserves think this won't do a thing, it should stop banks from gambaling on other peoples loans (thus how 2008 recession happened)
>healthcare for all
fucking great
>expand welfare
meme
>reform tax code and close loopholes
finally

I like bernie honestly, not as much as trump but he's not bad by any standards
>>
>>79455958
Their only issue now is outsourcing which they can't do anything about

Unions are doing a lot more harm than good by making it impossible to fire bad employees

>Invest in schools, roads, bridges and airports
Trump wants to do this too, so it's not bad.

>Transition from fossil fuels to renewables
This is literally the best time to be using fossil fuels in recent history, why the fuck would we transition? That's not an economic decision it's an emotional one.

>Unions
Get fucked, union jobs are awful.

>Minimum wage
There should be no federal minimum wage. Let the states decide.

>Equal pay regardless
Already exists. You cannot prove for a second that it doesn't, the COMSAD study proved decisively that there is no pay gap. Sanders' plan would waste money and possibly force us to pay low-skilled women the same as highly skilled men for MUH EQUALITY

>Reform trade policies
So Trump's plan, again.

>Make college affordable
College is already affordable.

>Break up the big banks
I can get behind this, but Congress won't.

>Make healthcare available to all
It already is.

>Expand social security, medicaid, and food stamps
Oh great, expand the ponzi scheme.

>Reform the tax code and close corporate loopholes
Translation: Raise taxes on everybody and remove some of the ways for people to escape the brutally unfair taxes you've just levied. Gotcha.

Yeah, we're looking at about 30% agreement, and 70% SEVERE disagreement. That's below my threshhold, it's a bad plan.
