At my wife's grandmother's funeral, there was a strong sense of celebrating the life of an old lady who had lived a great life and gone on to anything that is next with her dignity about her. She was deeply proud of the family left behind her, and they took the opportunity to joyfully remember her, to see each other (many cousins and second cousins had not seen each other in years.)

Generally grandparents want their families to be united. She isn't sitting on her deathbed hoping that everyone is crying and bitter at her funeral. they usually want to family to be together and continue to be together despite their differences/conflicts. they want it to be a remembrance/celebration of life.
photos are memories. family members who couldn't make it to funeral can see the girls reunited. maybe the one sister flew in from across and has to fly back home after the ceremony.
it's a picture of them. that's it. people post to social media as a form of expression. expression is a release of energy rather than an absorption.
there are no gravestone in the background. who knows where the picture was even taken? when it is acceptable to take a picture for you? please tell me oh mighty one when is the appropriate time to take a picture? an hour after? a few hours before? how do you even know when it was taken? you're just judging them harshly with little to no data beside a caption on a standard group photo.
