I come from a huge old school hippie family (27 of voting age), all very politically active. Literally every family member of mine supported Bernie and voted for him in the primary. They're all crushed that he's done and over with. Most if not all will be (reluctantly) voting for Hillary this fall.

Now my job is to convince them all to either a.) Vote for Trump instead or b.) Vote for a third party candidate (anyone but Hillary). Hopefully each of them will then convince their friends of the same thing. My family is spread out across three major swing states - Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan - which makes it even more important.

It's looking grim for Trump atm so I want to do everything I can to help. Any ideas?

Also, regardless of my family, any ideas or tactics to get Berniebots voting for Trump or taking more votes away from Hillary by voting third party in the general?

For instance, I know I saw an infographic "on the issues" checklist of Bernie vs. Trump at one point that showed all the things they agreed on (that Clinton doesn't) and another with Bernie/Hillary/Jill Stein that shows how Bernie and Stein are near identical but Hillary fails in every major progressive way. Someone post these if you've got them; they'd be a great way to open people's eyes.

Focus on anti-Hillary, don't bring up Trump. They will decide at the voting booths or stay home.

It's different for every single person to convince them to like Trump and it's really not worth the time. It's better to point out how Hillary is not Bill and that in the end she is just another politician that goes whichever way the wind blows.

What I get when I go anti-Hillary is

>but Anon, Hillary isn't perfect and I like Bernie better for his policies, but Hillary is basically the same thing as Bernie, just not quite as revolutionary as he would have been. She has experience and I think would probably do all the same things Bernie would do in office so what's the problem?

shit sux

I thought hippies were good at being conscientious objectors?

Are they big on endangered species? If so, show them this.

Its easy, call them sell outs if they vote Hillary.
>>
>>79314673
This. They are literally selling their souls to a woman who embodies everything they are against. Call them spineless, tell them they have no backbones. Remind them the status quo exists because of THEM!
>>
>>79313943

Hillary has more in common with Bush than Bernie.

Then he's a Democrat purist stuck in a dreamworld so the argument is worthless. A rational man would look see how she has flipped on everything she has ever said but the only consistent thing is that she is a warmongering neocon. The Arab Spring, Iraq War, immigration, Lybia, Syria, Whitewater and the Clinton Crime Foundation. All without having to dive into Benghazi and the emails which the media has conditioned the liberals into thinking that it was all a Republican-funded lie.

Trump is nearly identical in regards to trade, anti-interventionism though he supports killing terrorists (the horror) which when pressed mention that it means that we need to stop destabilizing the Middle East with dumping weapons towards radical regime changers. The Arab Spring is probably the most relevant evil thing she participated in. She is also a complete corporate shill if you show them the video of her saying Lybia is a great business opportunity. Both Trump and Bernie are anti-globalists to an extent.

You know what, ask them what her policies are because I cannot think of a single one. Not "end racism :)" but actual, hard policy. All she has is foreign policy failures and being a part of the housing bubble fiasco. So much for experience.

convince them athat trump winning is the only way anti establishment candidates will be looked at seriously in upcoming elections and if they want another bernie sanders to possibly win they should be voting for an outsider right now that can break the establishment grip on the nation
>>
>>79314955
Yeah, point out that despite calling for a Revolution so hard with Bernie, the second he drops out suddenly they are okay with the Status quo and won't go towards the other anti-establishment figure.

Again, they are mindless party drones who thoughts are reaffirmed by the media 24/7. Pretty hopeless but try to make them look stupid if you have to """"debate.""""

Take a hint from Trump: Quit disparaging Sanders supporters. You don't win allies this way.

Trump has been sympathetic toward Sanders and has been the only person on the Republican side to point out how he's getting fucked over.

>call them sell outs

Name calling is always very persuading.

You have to convince them that Hillary would be a vote against their morals.

Bring up the fact that Hillary used to be against fag marriage. If they use the whole "lol but she evolves meme", ask them whether or not it's possible to evolve on an issue like fag marriage. In reality, it's a moral issue and she's old and wrinkly.

Bring up the fact that Hilldawg is essentially neocon. She voted for the war in Iraq, supported the overthrow of Libya, and wants to overthrow Assad. Make sure to point out the resulting civil war. Use moral arguments here and point out that Obama has admitted it as a mistake.

You can go deeper by pointing out her positions on trade, the environment, etc. The most important argument to make is that a vote for Clinton is a vote against everything that they stand for. Point to the alternative candidate Jill Stein and make sure to hammer the "muh evolving" meme. You have to crush that argument and point out that she doesn't evolve at all and isn't to be trusted. Also bring up wall street, special interests, and Super PACs.

By making them feel stupid I mean point out a logical inconsistency and let it sit in their heads. You are probably never going to get Bernie supporters to publicly endorse Trump, but voting is anonymous. Don't scream at them until it's a fight.

Also I have no clue what to say if they get a stroke of genius and mention that the next president gets to appoint Supreme Court judges who will definitely be conservative in Trump's case. Hopefully that doesn't come up.

Keep it brief, keep it simple, make them feel dumb. Don't go into the full "Wine and Cheese" mode that Socialists always do where they try to sound smarter and enlightened. I always shut out what they say when they try that.

>>79315857
This. Hillary votes for whatever gets her the most support. Her values are inconsistent and she is not fit to represent the left.
>>
>this desperate

lel
>>
>>79312966
Tell them that trump is less likely to get reelected, so Bernie might be able to run again in 2020.
>>
>>79314969
This. She voted for the Iraq war and that shitty fence on the Mexican border that didn't keep anyone out.
>>
Talked to two of my sisters for about 20 minutes and got them from "hardcore Bernie supporters but voting Hillary in the fall" to "maybe Jill Stein isn't such a bad idea..."

So that's progress, at least? Basically I need more ways for them to see that if they actually believed in Bernie's message that voting for Hillary is voting against the very core of what they believe in
