It's total shit if you go to the ER because you have appendicitis and you come out thousands in debt because insurance is obsolete/really doesn't cover much. More and more people can't afford decent insurance due to the shrinking middle class and importation of cheap labor/outsourcing. Thus they get sick, use the ER as a primary care, don't pay it back, and then regular upper middle class guy gets fucking pounded on his insurance Bill to make up for the fact that so many can't afford to pay it.
