still not sure if it's really worth it..I was raised extremely strict and routinely beaten (not just 'spanked') when I fucked up as a kid. Finished university with a 1,0 degree and currently working on my dissertation, but I'm depressed as fuck and also borderline alcoholic. Kids - especially children 12 and under - are pretty much the same shit. People bring them into their lives to because they can't control their own animal instincts or they believe they'll offer some magical, rose-tinted meaning into the lives.. Or at least that's what parents hope to get out of the relationship with their kids.
The major differences is that a child has enough cognitive thought to turn against you, is expensive as fuck, a huge risk for potentially very little reward and that they will eventually grow old enough to become independent - possibly supporting you in the long term if you get lucky.

I feel you man, my little brother is a bit better than that but still a lost cause. He's virtually scared of books and will start screaming if I start talking about them or recommend him some. He's glued to his PS4 practically 24/7, has no interest in anything besides it. When I suceed in getting him out of the house for a walk, he starts nagging after 10 minutes how his legs hurt, or how some other part of his body hurts. He has no respect for our parents, no respect for our national history (since he knows 0 about history whatsoever), no respect for our faith. He knows nothing about the world that surrounds him and has no interest in knowing it. He's incapable of functioning like a normal human being since he doesn't know how to do anything by himself, I genuinely feel that if he somehow got lost some 3 meters from my house, he wouldn't know how to come back. He's also more grumpy than your average 80 year old.
How do I make him start love reading and just exploring that what's around him? How do I prevent him from growing up into one more worthless anemic man baby?

Do you not have kids? Because the behavior I'm reading sounds typical for a child who does not have strong parents setting boundaries. It's not unheard of for siblings to attack each other. What's the difference between pushing and two boys kicking each other in the balls or throwing punches? It's a thing, and no, no remorse has to be felt for it. That doesn't equal a budding sociopath. Hell, that could be many things, or nothing at all depending on the psychologist.
She's 9. I have a greater suspicion that she's simply been exposed to this stuff either via her friends parents, her friends and her siblings, or her own parents.
None of her behavior automatically means something is 'psychologically wrong'. Kids pick up and do what they see. If she's got access to the internet that's only a contributing factor.

I have children with two women who are idiots. At 30 years old, they both actually believe that the world is just going to cater to them and give them what they want.
I tell one of them daily;

The response is usually rage, denial, my fault.
These people are desperate and in denial but when the system finally does collapse and the price of living sky rockets, most of them will be spinning off into self destruction via suicide or attempted looting/robbery which will likely end up with them being shot.
