If Britain wants free access to the EU domestic market like it had as a EU member it must accept the four fundamental freedoms of the EU.

One being that EU citizens can travel freely and chose their place of residence in any country.

Reminder: Getting rid of that rule was one of the main arguments of the brexiters.

So what's it gonna be Brexit-fags? Keeping those damn foreigners out or having access to the EU market so you economy doesn't tank?

Btw, how do you feel about your glorious Brexit leaders already cutting back on their promises just six days after the vote?

Well then I guess you will have to get used to EU companies and consumers buying less UK products. The import taxes will make them far more expensive. You could work for less of course to compensate that.

It's to be negotiated.

UK can trade globally now without restriction, the EU economy is stagnant. Tariff free trading is nice, but it is by no means required. EU can not afford to loose the UK consumers, so the UK is in a better position that you might imagine.

Only time will tell.

EU will try to force free movement, but that is by no means a given. Just hope the UK remembers why people voted Brexit or its going to get ugly as fuck.

It's genuinely scary that people claim the EU's plan isn't to become a superstate.

All three of these rules are trying to establish preliminary grounds for this "superstate" event to occur, and yet no prominent media figures are actually willing to discuss this. They just brush it off.

On an unrelated note, it's really disconcerting that the level of American interest in this matter is so high, and that the political administration in the USA seem so furious, what with Obama's half truths about xenophobia and racism call outs, and John Kerry's adamant interest in a potential reversal plan, I'm not terribly familiar with American politics, but it's still very odd to see this sort of reaction.

The level of compliance amongst most unassuming people with this incredibly obvious level of invested global interests not just in the political sphere, but also the media sphere, who might as well at this point just be called out as undeniable shills, but that's unrelated, is actually incredibly scary. The fundamental yes/no question about want for a britain free and independent in it's democracy should have been a largely british issue, and the utter ignorance of the masses to largely recognise the media's absolute failure to report on it in an adult way is damning.

UK can get access to EU's single market. it's just that there will be minimum regulatory standards put on British products that competing EU members have to abide by.

There's also the problem that access to EU's 440million people is more important to the UK then EU's access to the UK's paltry 64million.

UK will get access to the single market, but the tariffs that will be imposed will make British exports undesirable while British imports would be pricier due to currency devaluation.

the argument is this, UK will not get tariff free access to the EU's single market as it enjoyed before without the freedom of movement. UK will get access to EU's single market but with tariffs.

Financial services mainly, the tax insentives (read breaks) in our country are second to none and if your not an idiot you would eventually have need of offices and business address in the uk.

There are huuuuuuge European banks operating in the uk doing business with the rest of the world as it is cheaper for them to operate outside of mainland Europe.

I'm not just talking about money either but anything financial as a whole, if there is a few shekels to be made on something, the U.K. Banking industry is usually involved in some way or another.

Do eastern Europeans have the same purchasing power as do western? No.
The UKs major exports are majorly of capital intensive goods, luxury goods, and resource goods (eg, mechanical parts, vehicles, and gold/oil respectively as wells as pharmaceuticals and aerospace related things). Those are fairly solid industries which can handle a hit well.
Sure, but the UK can tariff major imports from the EU all the same in retaliation, so long as they are specialized industries they can do some real damage just as the EU wishes to do.

The British public by and large want controls on immigration, even the ones who voted Remain. They just didn't think it was worth the risk of interrupting trade and maybe a minor recession.

Also, 3 million EU nationals work in the UK now, and only 1 millions Brits in the EU. So all of your wages will go up once the supply of EU worker drones drys up. Good.

We also import much more than we export from you, but we can live without your overrated, overpriced cars and all buy Fords, Toyotas and Kias. And it will hurt you too whenever we do trade. Sweet.

Now I bet you think you've got us beat with London, because it needs access to the Single Market to trade with Europe. But we want the UK to diversify away from financial services anyway and also relieve pressure on living costs there, plus it has a ton of other reasons why it is a global city, so you'd be doing us a favor. Brilliant.
