It's not like WW2 where there's clear aggressors. Nobody was fighting for any moral reasons, it was just empires and nations that had rivalries and going to war for the purpose of expansion and to eliminate competition. Even if Franz Ferdinand didn't die, something else would eventually have kicked everything off. Some people in power simply wanted war and just looking for a reason to declare it.
And in the end of it all, the clear abuse inflicted on the losing side just set the stage for the anger and resentment that turned into the second World War.

Then when you consider that it directly lead to ww2 and subsequently the cold war, you see that we had nearly a century of war and political/industrial boundaries redifined all because bankers wanted us too.

I would extend that to include Japan as well. They were able to keep all the territories it claimed from Germany in WWI, and got to sit at the League of Nations table, which helped perpetuate Japanese Imperialism. Eventually this lead the annexation of Korea and conquest of China.

Christianity died in World War 1, the best and the brightest from my country were slaughtered, tricked into thinking they were fighting the war to save civilization.
Poets, Gentlemen, educated, patient and considerate men died for a false cause, and left their families fatherless to raise a generation of socialists which ruins this country to this day.

All of these were decided in World War One.
