In the 90's, I was a waiter in my 20's at a restaurant called Marina Cafe in Staten Island. I worked brunch, nights, and weekends, and every holiday. I made over $1000 a week, $800 of that was tips. I was making over $30 an hour with tips. The Democrat platform seeks to eliminate tips and replace it with $15 an hour minimum. That might be fine for the waiter in Baltimore but it would effectively cut my salary in half. Why do the Democrats think that what's good for one part of the country is good for the entire country? Are Democrats stupid or just fascists?

The proposal in 2014 was to raise the tips wage floor. That means your boss has to pay a higher minimum wage but you still get to keep all your tips.
